If you watch the games, the talent and IQ is there in the players. There's some sort of disconnect in the gameplan, or we have a QB who has close to zero confidence in himself and has no idea what he is doing. Blame it on the coaching staff if need be, but the problems are deeper than "developing" the talent here.
Just my analysis. Obviously we're looking at 5 years before he even hits the field but as of now he doesn't have the mechanics. On short and long throws he short arms the ball leading to a lot of hang time. At the collegiate level a DB will close on that throw and deflect or intercept.
Throws are consistently on the wrong shoulder, not enough velocity and the spirals aren't always great. Unless he greatly improves his arm in the next 2-4 years I'd say he's a depth player.
While most players only get partial scholarships, it's not necassarily the athletic department giving them partial scholarships. Generally for non-revenue and hockey the athletic department will give the coach X amount of scholarships and they're free to divide those however they want. So for baseball, a 30 man roster may get 18 scholarships or whatever the number is.
can and/or are scheduling home and homes. Not only that, but we have h&h's w/Arkansas, UCLA, and Utah. Alabama cancelled their h&h w/MSU. LSU and Wisconsin have a psuedo h&h. So what other teams in the B1G have these awesome h&h's that you want. We haven't had the on field success to get an Alabama to travel up here or an Oregon to come across the country. So before throwing my "hypothesis" out the window, you could do some actual thinking about what I was saying.
with a big program is not possible? Did anyone ever think that maybe the issue is that no one wants to play us in a h&h, but would rather play one game at a neutral site?
It'll be interesting to see if they're all hype or not. Will also be interesting to see how former CCHA teams do without B1G members filling their arenas. M by 3.
