Z's hook shot even works in the Pros

Zavier Simpson hit the Clippers with his patented hook shot.  Apparently the announcers had never seen anything like that and went nuts. I don't think Isaiah Hicks, a fourth year player out of North Carolina was ready for it. Although I don't think it likely, I'd love to see Rob Pelinka take a flyer on Z with his 15th roster spot (of course, Chaundee gets a spot too).

It’s one thing to use the hook over Isaiah Hicks. It’s another whole thing to use the hook over Giannis or Kawhi. Still awesome to see, and hope Simpson is able to scrape on somewhere!

I love Simpson for what he did here but he brings nothing to an NBA team. Basically Ben Simmons but half the size. You cant run a ball screen with him because the defender would just go under the screen straight to the paint.

I expected it to work...it's unlockable from the angle it is released, and that is why he developed it...ingenuity...surprised nobody has done this.... It might be the thing that gets him to stick in league.  Pioneer.

I couldn't find stats for his Senior year, but he hit 70% of his hook shots his Junior year. His final yar 3-pt percentage was 36% so I doubt you are correct.

From the Toledo Blade:

"Simpson converts his hook shots at a 70 percent clip, a percentage that makes it a reliable weapon for the Wolverines. He flummoxed Maryland with four hooks earlier this month, leaving the College Park audience gasping each time.

“That kid makes four skyhooks. Are you kidding me?” Maryland coach Mark Turgeon said. “One, I can get. But four?”"
