Xavier Tillman staying in NBA draft
Title says it all...
Hmm, I thought Dick V was a reliable source.
Congrats to Grandma Tillman for being the first person to escape from Izzo's basement!!
I thought Dickie V had the inside scoop??!! Finally some good news.
Izzo Gonna find a walk on and he’s gonna star.
Somewhere Graham Couch is curled up in the fetal position, sobbing hysterically ???
Good luck in the league, Xavier.
Yeah...there have been plenty of especially unlikeable Sparties over the years, but he's not one of them. I begrudingly tip my cap to him.
I hate him! Only because he tends to kick our asses.
Seems like most of the guys I am familiar with made the “right” choice Including Tillman and Henry at MSU, Livers, and Garza at Iowa.
I am less familiar with the prospects of the 2 kids from Illinois - thought both of them had a shot at a guaranteed contract had they stayed in.
In any event the B1G will be loaded next year.
Henry was considering leaving for the draft? He was about as inconsistent as Nojel Eastern
Yes - Henry just announced his return today.
He actually was above Livers on most boards - (more athletic and more of a shot creator?) - but still borderline of getting drafted and unlikely to get guaranteed $$.
Yeah, Henry was considering it as well. Just looking at his skill and athleticism, he has the tools to be an NBA player in the future. His main problem was confidence on the offensive end. He didn't look comfortable when he was expected to be a focal point of the offense. Early in the season, he was the third option after Winston and Tillman, and he seemed like he wasn't sure whether to create for himself or set up a teammate. Then after Rocket stepped up as the third guy, Henry's offense improved like he was more sure of himself. He's a really good defender and a good passer, so I think he could be a solid role player in the NBA
Interesting assessment. Clearly a coaching issue...so why is Henry returning??? Izzo was a very good coach-a few years back.
Given that our biggest weakness next season will likely be at the center spot, this is huge.
I would think our biggest weakness would be shooting guard. Dickinson and Davis should be able to hold down the 5.
I think they have a ton of options with the 2 given the versatility of Brooks, Livers, and Wagner. I don't think Davis really held down the 5 at the second half of the season, and Dickinson is a burly freshman who will probably have the same mobility issues to start. With the 5, my main concern is defense.
Tillman is a local guy to me. Seems like a great person. Wishing him all the best in the league.
Tillman makes a ton of sense in the NBA if for no other reason than his flexibility in defense. Smart move by him, and glad Izzo let his grandma leave the basement with him.
Thank you.
“I’m thrilled for Xavier and am very excited for the opportunities he has ahead of him,”
Angry little troll face.....
I think I understand - plenty of people, like Tillman, look to make course corrections in their life as they pass into their forties. Forty was the age where I left management to take my old represented position back, after all. We all need that change in pace or perspective sometimes.
In a world in the grips of a pandemic, one man manages to ...
Escape from E. Lansing.
Good luck to him.
Good luck, X.
The two returning to the Illini are big surprises. I saw both of them making an NBA team. Rare for Big Ten Freshman of the year to stay in school. Illini might be the team to beat in the league.
I think Iowa might be the team to beat. Haweyes will be annoyingly good.
But Illinois is up there for sure.
Good choice.
Tillman seems like a very likable dude...best of luck to him and glad we don't have to face him anymore.
I played basketball with him and Duane Washington in some pick up games. They are awesome kids. Super polite with great personalities.
Good for him, better for the Michigan big men.
Good for you Xavier. Have a fine career and make a nice life for your family.
Michigan has a better chance with you in the NBA for sure.
Best decision he could make. Not because he plays for Sparty. There was no reason for him to come back to school. Good luck in the NBA!
