Article is paywalled (will post a few excerpts in comments), but discusses how this opportunity came to be (including the team plane crash and the Dak & Dunc Show). A bit of a fluff piece (written by a Duke alum), but still a mildly amusing read.

The first episode of Robinson’s show, The Long Shot, is being released this week through a podcast company founded by New Orleans Pelicans guard JJ Redick, the latest development in the rapidly expanding universe of NBA players illuminating their trade.

One of the many reasons that professional athletes aren’t podcast hosts in their spare time is that it takes some humility to be the person asking questions instead of answering them. Modesty has never been a problem for Robinson. He’s an NBA player who could have been an NBA podcaster.

Robinson actually came into the league with podcasting experience. And it was all because of a plane crash. Michigan was traveling to the Big Ten Tournament in 2017 when the team’s plane slid past the runway on takeoff, and Robinson and a teammate decided to record a podcast to document the chaotic aftermath.
They had impeccable timing. Michigan became the darling of college basketball when they won the Big Ten Tournament and then kept winning until the national championship game. The podcast became a cult hit.
“I always thought that maybe down the line I could have something of my own,” said the latter half of The Dak and Dunc Show.

Can't wait for Robinson to interview this dude. I bet they'll have subs and it will be one crazy podcast.

I love these kind of images - shows that these guys (kids & the staff) are still having fun out there and it's not just "business". Where would anyone see an NBA coach (or any other pro sport) get in a squirt gun fight with their players after a win in the middle of a tournament? This was just a Round of 32 upset win to get them into the Sweet Sixteen and look how these guys were cheering and celebrating each other.
I think this guy has a similar approach:

Sports are for recreation - thank God that some people still understand this!

If it's anything like Dak & Dunc, it's going to be awesome.

I've heard Duncan a lot on JJ's podcast and he really is a natural. I'm a huge NBA fan so will definitely be checking this out.
