WNIT Quarterfinal vs. Syracuse; Free Admission/Food for U-M Students
Syracuse won last night and will face Michigan Sunday at 2:00 at Crisler. The Michigan women are attempting to reach the semifinals of a national tournament for the first time in the program's history.
Free admission/food for U-M students, per posting on U-M site:
Ticket prices for Sunday's game are $6 for adults and $4 for seniors, students and children under 18. U-M students can gain free admission to Sunday's game through Gate E with a valid M-Card and will receive free food while supplies last. Tickets will be available for purchase at Crisler Arena on Sunday afternoon.Doors open at 1:00. Added attraction: halftime entertainment will apparently be a Pep Band-Maize Rage rematch of their tie game at halftime of the Thursday game.

Let's go Orange!
I'll root for Michigan every time they don't play the 'Cuse.
When they do, I want blood.
The 'Cuse is in the house, Oh my God! Oh my God!

Free food? Grad students will be there.
My sophomore year, I managed to eat for free an average of 4 days a week in the fall semester. I'm not talking just one meal, I'm talking the full day. UM is a poor student's food dream. Somebody on campus offers free food at least once a day if you can search hard enough.

...does such a better job marketing it's non-revenue sports today than it did in the '80s. In retrospect, I missed out on a ton of good sports action when I was a student. I probably would have considered going to more events if it hadn't been the pre-information age.

If you go back to the Canham/Bo days and even later, the U-M athletic directors essentially had the same attitude about women's sports that many posters on this site espouse (see below).
I'm sure it's helped over the last decade to have someone like Bill Martin in charge, who was clearly supportive of the "nonrevenue" sports.

They're going to need free Zingermann's to get anybody to watch women's basketball.
I'm sure this was already posted on here somewhere, but Zingerman's chef Alex Young was nominated for the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Great Lakes Region. Not bad...

It's on the top of Page 10.
...accomplishment. I see that Bryan Voltaggio of Top Chef runner up fame is a nominee for the Mid-Atlantic region. Also, Tom Colicchio, Top Chef's head judge was nominated for the Outstanding Chef award. That helps to validates that show's credibility.
The Blue Ladies blew them out.
And Maize Rage beat the Pep Band 7-4.
Now that that's done, Go Blue!
Double double, post post.
Michigan shot over 40% from beyond the arc.
