Who am I? Not OT

Congrats to Boston Wolverine, who I believe was the first to get Todd Collins as the correct answer.  He's from your neck-of-the-woods, I would hope that someone from that area would get the answer.  (But I guess you need to be old enough to remember TC).

Hey XM, he missed 5-6 games with the broken ankle.  Would have added ???  500 yards passing and ??? 4-5-6 more touchdowns.

Excellent passer, with good arm strength, and a quick release… quick feet…considered by many to be one of the top five quarterback prospects in the nation…named All-American by Superprep magazine…Player-of-the-year in: New England….  also made the Boston Globe All-State team…threw for almost 3,500 yards and 33 touchdowns in three seasons…broke his ankle five games into last season; returned to see action in the state title game…named all-league after his junior season…threw for 1,500 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior…earned 10 varsity letters at Walpole High School…played in state championship games for three different sports in one season while in high school…leD baseBall and football teams to state titles, while the school basketball team lost the final game…was 10-0 junior season as a pitcher for the baseball team…averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds per game for the basketball team.. excellent student, likes Michigan for its fine law program…born 11/5/1971.

In case this edition of WAINOT was too difficult, there was a very small, subtle hint.  Did you notice the Capital "D" and the capital "B" where there should not be capitals.

On to #2: Should be easy or not.  When you come to the Bold, Italics & Underlined, a "Holy Crap" per Achmed is authorized.

Came to Michigan in _ _ _ _.  Played football during his freshman season.  Directed his efforts to Track & Field, a sport that betted CateRed to his size and speed.  Broke eight, (That’s 8) Michigan varsity records.  Achieved All American status and set the World Record in the 440-yard dash, a mark that would stand for five (That’s 5) years.

Hey OP - thanks for the well-researched off season content!

One suggestion: if you are planning a series of these, could you number or date the titles?

Red is Blue is on the right track.  It was a small / subtle hint.  For those who were having trouble with Todd Collins, if I gave a hint on his whereabouts it might help.  DB = Don Brown.  He is from the New England area, recruited there and is now coaching there.

XM helps on this one.  Why CR?  That's the hint that it is a way back in history.

I moved to Ann Arbor in 1985.  I'm sorry to have missed the legendary broadcaster.

But I did get to see QB Jim Harbaugh win a few games before I left.
