When Maize was Maize - 2007 Michigan at Michigan State [torrent]

Submitted by MGoArchive on
all the talk of Nike and Michigan again jogged my memory of one of my favorite items in my video vault - the 2007 Michigan at Michigan State game.

This is a very special copy of the game - to my knowledge, it is the first 'full HD' recording that exists in the public domain; most of the recordings of that era were H.264 encodes, at 30fps. Lame!

Full bitrate broadcast 720p at 60 frames per recordings are the only way to live. This was a big deal in 2007. 2008 was the first season that I started recording games, so whoever did this and released the full HD copy years ago - Thank you!

Anyways, obviously there is quite a bit of footage of Michigan's uniforms - at first glance, the pants are nearly as highliter-like as the adidas pants, maybe a shade lighter. The helmets are definitely a different shade of Maize though.

I remember this like it was yesterday - it was my senior year at Michigan and I traveled to Lansing to meet people who didn't get into Michi- I mean, my highschool friends.

I remember the sparties were super hyped, coming out of their houses and yelling in the streets on Spartan Ave. when they momentarily took the lead, only for the Manning-hammer to be dropped on them.

Let's return back to crushing sparty, k? K.

Harbaugh? Harbaugh.

It's going to start, build and end with a solid running game.  JH will absolutely allow nothing less.  That lessens the load on the starting QB and favors a game manager who will PROTECT the damn football.  Rudock seems a great fit for such a role.  The defense--which has potential for greatness--will be better supported by this type of offense and should have more in the tank for the 4th quarter.  I'm not predicting a win total, but I do not see 9 wins as unrealistic given the improvement i expect in the running game, fewer turnovers i expect in the passing game and a top 20 defense.  OSU--cuz it will be tough to outscore them--and Utah--cuz its the first game for our QB, it's on the road and Utah has a tough defense to run against--are the 2 games where the QB position may come up short.

After Manningham's catch, it's a good three minutes of the camera panning across the stadium getting close ups of devastated Spartan fans. Henne and Hart's four year stats against MSU were pure porn CHAD HENNE: 2004: 24/35 for 273 yards, 4 touchdowns 2005: 26/35 for 256 yards, 3 touchdowns 2006: 11/17 for 140 yards, 3 touchdowns 2007: 18/33 for 211 yards, 4 touchdowns MIKE HART: 2004: 33 for 225 yards, 1 touchdown 2005: 36 for 222 yards, 1 touchdown 2006: 22 for 125 yards 2007: 15 for 112 yards
