What I don't understand!
This my take on things. Disagree if you will, but why don't we seem to ever man up and put athlete on athlete? I think that we should seriously consider playing man on man, despite our lack of experience in the defensive backfield. This of course may cause us some big plays, but it would also grow our defensive backfield up much quicker, as well as allowing us to pressure the opposing QB every play. I feel that we have the athletes to cause havoc, we just have to create pressure on more occasions to take advantage. This adjustment in my opinion would be the right call! Your thoughts?

Man's more complex. With a lot of inexperienced guys on defense, it's important that we play something simple where they don't have to worry about assignments and can just read and react, thus, zone. Once the D starts looking more competent, whether that be this year or next, then we might see man

It's a fair question, but IMO we would get nuked by anyone with fast wideouts and/or a quality tight end.

I think that's already happening. But agree it would most likely be worse with man coverage.
Why do I feel sad all of a sudden?

If the defense "grows up slower", I consider that a solid tradeoff for not getting burned into Toasty McCornerback every other play. Which would happen.
