Well, we hit stage 5 in Kubler-Ross “Acceptance”- your thoughts?

“Don’t Panic” in the upper left was the first clue of Stage 5 since panic started the second half of Illinois when we collectively felt the wheels flying off and began to doubt a win against Purdue. Brian simply closed the lid with the Otter post. The thought of the Pizza Bowl was no longer distasteful (I mean really it is the Pizza Bowl in Detroit of all places), it was a beautiful lifeboat we desperately began to clamor for as thoughts of winning 2 of the last 4 were put in jeopardy. I don’t know when you hit 1: Denial 2: Anger 3: Bargaining 4: Depression 5: Acceptance For me it really collapsed into a compressed time period. Denial after Iowa, Anger after Penn State, Bargaining after Illinois and Depression/Acceptance after Purdue since I really didn’t think we had a chance in hell at Wisc (I feel dirty even writing that, no chance at Wisc?). Your thoughts?

Nothing has really died at UM. I knew it was going to be a roller coaster, and the ride isn't really over yet. Young teams elate you and piss you off many times, usually with no rhyme or reason; this young team is no different. If there were a defining moment, though, it would be when I realized that Forcier is hurt more than he is letting on. I still contend that when the dust settles, Forcier's performance this season will be seen as one of the bravest seasons in the history of the program. And I really can't find any reason to grieve about that.

I will never get out of stage 1 because this is not the team we are. We will be better than this. So I guess you could say I have accepted to stay in denial until we are no longer angry and depressed and there is no bargaining to get me to think otherwise.

hiring a new coach, replacing the source of your misery, a lot of people have already hit the next stage, imo prematurely, another concern is hopefully the players have not hit Stage 5.
