Who is the kid Davione Rogers? Is he someone we are after? How good is he, 40 time etc.

is a 3* DE/OLB on both sites. He's 6'6" and 205#. He's high school teammates with DJ Williamson and is currently committed to WV. Here is some film that you can see without having a subscription

Is UM after him? I think it's fair to say that anyone UM brings in for a visit three weeks before signing day is a kid they're after. He may be a plan B type kid waiting to see how it all unfolds, but they have interest.

Sounds like that kid might have the frame to really put it together as he gets to college. He's listed as having no offer as of yet, but I wonder if that's about to change.

I hope we are able to get the Detroit Renaissance LB from 2011 in on this visit also.

I would think he has to be RichRod's number 1 target next year. The bad part about Thomas is there will be some "input" from his "people" that will probably make it a long shot that we land him.

How the hell can a coach influence a kid's decision that much??
January 14th, 2010 at 9:19 AM ^
The thing is, MSU just lost their primary recruiter for the Detroit area. If we can swoop in and make an impression on this kid now(apparently he grew up a Michigan fan), I think it gives us a great chance of actually landing him.

At this point, Michigan is way, way out of the picture. My guess is if it isn't MSU, it'll be Alabama. The longer his recruitment plays out, the better chance Michigan has.

Still, MSU has to be the favorite, with all the coaches leaning that way. But Enos going to CMU definitely hurts. It is a strong in state class, with Arnett, Thomas and Hayes are top 3 targets.

what the chances are that justice hayes will give us a better look now that MSU just brought in 3 more RB's???
January 14th, 2010 at 10:15 AM ^
did he put some odd quote out there something like...
yeah they (MSU) are kicking a bunch of people off the team and i might get to play early. i think it's a great situation.
I'd rather have Hart anyway.
January 14th, 2010 at 10:24 AM ^
of them. since the RB postion in this offense does so many things it always good to have different options...
January 14th, 2010 at 10:27 AM ^
Agree about Hart. From what I have seen, he has the ability to become a very special player in this offense.
January 14th, 2010 at 1:40 PM ^
Dantonio: Kid, we're gonna have some potential for you to get the early playing time.
Hayes: Why's that coach?
Dantonio: I got me a bunch of thugs and miscreants so I, uh, just have to run off a few running backs. It'll open up some spots...it's a great opportunity for you and an exciting time for our program.
Hayes: Exciting, I'd say.
Dantonio: I'll take care of this later today after I talk to my PR Rep, I mean a guy named Rosenberg. Oh, one last question: how do you feel about math guys or engineers...and, uh, have you ever owned a balaclava?
Hayes: WTF

I just came across some Jibreel Black news as I was checking out the Cincinnati recruiting news, but it looks as if Black may not be visiting Michigan, Michigan State, or Iowa after his official to Cincinnati this past weekend.

Yes, recent developments point to Black sticking with his Cincy commitment. Not a major loss, as we already have two 3 tech DT in Ash and Talbott. Picking up a NT would be nice, but doesn't look like there are any options left barring a NSD surprise.

Kurelic reporting that Earnest Thomas probably to visit UM this weekend. Possible late addition?
January 14th, 2010 at 5:16 PM ^
He isn't coming this weekend. Maybe next.
He also doesn't have an offer (yet).
January 14th, 2010 at 1:26 PM ^
Thankfully this weekend will be the first time temperatures get above freezing for 2010. Nothing worse than a -10 degree day to scare away the recruits.

This article didn't make me any more confident in getting Knight;
http://recruiting.scout.com/2/937795.html
He states coaching stability is something important to him and that Michigan is behind both Rutgers and Ole Miss in that area. He also states that his mother would prefer him to go to either of those two schools as well.
