WBB destroys Nebraska on road, 84-51

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

After a game earlier in the weel where Michigan played #3 Maryland tough on the road for 3.5 quarters in a close game before succumbing, the Wolverines would fly back to Ann Arbor and then depart for Lincoln just a couple days later.

Michigan was 1-11 against Nebraska all-time heading into today's game.

Nebraska is having a really down year this season with just 5 wins overall.

We took advantage of that, and the talented Wolverine team picked apart Nebraska.

Katelynn Flaherty had another great game with 27 points, giving her 57 points THIS WEEK.

She's on pace to break the all-time program scoring record as she has 1,693 points as a Junior and is #3 on the scoring list. She's had two 30-point games this season, both against top-10 B1G teams on the road.

Nicole Munger came off the bench and had a career-high 18 points.

Head coach Kim barnes Arico scored her 99th career win at Michigan. She's already the all-time win percentage leader, and is 24 wins away from being the all-time wins leader. When she gets her 100th, she'll be only the second Michigan coach to do so (Sue Guevara leads with 123).

Michigan is now 16-5 overall and 5-2 in the B1G in 3rd place.

Only one game this upcoming week, at home against Northwestern on Wednesday. Northwestern is just behind Michigan by 0.5 games in the standings at 4-2 (15-4 overall).

Probably the best team left on Michigan's schedule, and it's at home. Would be a huge win.

If you don't mind, I will be borrowing "Buzzfeedification" for the next meeting here where someone gets melodramatic with their PowerPoint slide headers. I think this term has a future - or it could get me in trouble. Either way, it will get test marketed.

WD, has Abby Cole joined the team yet?  I do not see her in the box scores or the cumulative stats.  While I did not expect her to come in and start and dominate, I would think she would at least get some minutes.

I understand she was a volleyball all-american, is 6-5 and a former HS hoopster.  Is she hurt?   I would have thought last night would be a place to give her some time.   anybody know if she will contribute?
