WBB's head coaching position now endowed by Harris family
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the whole coaching position endowments, but I'm very glad to see KBA's successes the past couple of years being celebrated; and nobody can deny the Harris family's generosity to the University.
Harris Family Endowment Names Women’s Basketball Head Coach Position
Forgot to add, this is the first endowed coaching position for a women's sport at Michigan.
I’ve always said we have the most well-endowed head coaches in the Big Ten.
"Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the whole coaching position endowments...."
Why are you not a fan? And how would you personally structure (and name) an ongoing, targeted gift to the school?
Good for KBA, but this feels like an archaic (Pre-NIL) move. Why not put it towards the players in an era where it's within the rules?
Archaic?
Clearly the family wanted to fund, on an ongoing basis, the permanent head coaching *position*.
NIL is/are funds providing for the rights to access/use a non-permanent-to-MI *individual's* name, image, and likeness.
Much different intent. Neither of which is archaic.

Clearly the family wanted to attach their name to a coaching position to get recognition for themselves. And it worked. I recognize them for the pretentious, narcissistic people that they are.
