Incredible comeback going on at #1 Doubles!!!!

Michigan was down 5-2, but has now won 3 games in a row (2 of which they broke Stanford's serve) to tie the set at 5-5.

Stanford wins 6-4 at #3 doubles, so it will all come down to the #1 Doubles set (tied at 5-5)

WHAT A COMEBACK!

Down 5-2 in a must win set at #1 Doubles, Michigan wins FIVE games in a row for a 7-5 victory!

With the win at #1 doubles, along with the 6-2 win at #2 doubles, Michigan wins the Doubles Point and leads Stanford 1-0.

Michigan needs to win 3 of the 6 singles matches to advance to the Final Four.

First Set Updates

Stanford wins, 6-2 at #3, 6-0 at #4 and 6-1 at #6.

Michigan leads 5-4 at #1, tied 4-4 at #2, and down 5-4 at #5.

And Stanford wins 6-4 at #2 and #5.......

This is pretty much as bad as singles could possibly go. We will need to win two 3 set matches now.

Michigan did take a 6-4 first set win at #1, but losing 5 of 6 first sets is brutal

Stanford wins 6-0, 7-5 at #4.

Michigan 2, Stanford 2

However, Michigan takes the second set at #3!!!

2-6, 6-2.

Need this third set.

Bad news on #3, good news on #2 and #5.

Michigan is down 0-3 in the third set at #3 singles.

Michigan just won the second set 6-4 at #5 singles. (4-6, 6-4)

Michigan also just won the second set at #2 singles 6-4. (4-6, 6-4)

We must win two of these three matches.

Fahey on 9 has come back from down 3-0 to take the lead 4-3. She is playing great right now. Ruder-Hook is down 4-0, so it looks like it will come down to Fahey and Minor, who is tied 2-2.

5-2 at #2

5-4 at #3

1-5 at #5

Stanford's #2 girl is collapsing. Looks like it'll come down to #3. LET'S GO BLUE!!! This is going to be so close.

Down 5-1 in the tiebreak as they switch sides.

Going to be tough to overcome.

Stanford girl is mostly lobbing it now/just keeping it in play and letting our player make errors. She's in her head.

I know. Although, UNC didn't even make it to the Elite 8 this year (lost in the Sweet Sixteen to #14 Virginia), so you could argue they were not as good as the team we faced last year. Losing to Ohio State twice this season hurts though.

I think there's an argument to go both ways. I don't really feel strongly one way or the other, doesn't seem clear cut.

Big Ten Title + Big Ten Tournament Title + Sweet Sixteen exit vs. Elite Eight exit + Regular season victory over highest ranked team we've beaten. Seems pretty even.

There's lots of reason to believe that next season could fire on all cylinders and be the definite best ever. Great coach and great players.

Stanford wins the tiebreaker 7-4, to take #3 singles 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 away from Michigan

Stanford 4, Michigan 3

Absolute heartbreaker, but a hell of a fight.
