Trails 5-4 at #1 Doubles (Stanford will serve)
Tied at 4-4 at #3 Doubles.
Incredible comeback going on at #1 Doubles!!!!
Michigan was down 5-2, but has now won 3 games in a row (2 of which they broke Stanford's serve) to tie the set at 5-5.
Stanford wins 6-4 at #3 doubles, so it will all come down to the #1 Doubles set (tied at 5-5)
How was that girl on 1 doubles with that serve? Didn't go in once and even if it had she had zero power behind it.

Never seen something quite like that; she was serving well early in the set too.
Tennis is one of the most mental games though. We obviously got in her head.
Michigan takes the doubles point!!! Stanford double faulted four straight times. U-M wins 7-5 at 1 #goblue

WHAT A COMEBACK!
Down 5-2 in a must win set at #1 Doubles, Michigan wins FIVE games in a row for a 7-5 victory!
With the win at #1 doubles, along with the 6-2 win at #2 doubles, Michigan wins the Doubles Point and leads Stanford 1-0.
Michigan needs to win 3 of the 6 singles matches to advance to the Final Four.
Stanford double faults 4 times to give up the set at 1 doubles, I actually felt really bad watching that...
Same, but we earned it in the first four games of the comeback. Gotta get this win now. Stanford lost the doubles point in their last matchup against Florida, but still ended up winning 4 singles matches to win.
Mistakes are part of sports. Sometimes you win or lose on a missed FG, a ground ball error or a double fault. Michigan was in a position to where those kind of errors killed Stanford.
First Set Updates
Stanford wins, 6-2 at #3, 6-0 at #4 and 6-1 at #6.
Michigan leads 5-4 at #1, tied 4-4 at #2, and down 5-4 at #5.
Not looking good.....we're going to need every single close match to go our way
Michigan has lost the first set in 3 of the 6 Singles matches. Not much room for error now as they probably need to win Singles at 1, 2 and 5.
.@umichtennis (1) and @StanfordWTennis (0) singles update:
1. 5-2
2. 4-3
3. 2-5

And Stanford wins 6-4 at #2 and #5.......
This is pretty much as bad as singles could possibly go. We will need to win two 3 set matches now.
Michigan did take a 6-4 first set win at #1, but losing 5 of 6 first sets is brutal
Stanford wins #6 singles 6-1, 6-0 to tie the match at 1.
Michigan 1, Stanford 1.
If we're gonna win this, it will be 4-3.
Updates:
Michigan 1, Stanford 1
#1 6-4, 3-1
#2 4-6, 0-1
#3 3-6, 4-0 (gonna need this comeback)
#4 0-6, 4-5
#5 4-6, 1-2
Who was the girl that double faulted? My girlfriend knows the Davidson girl and wants to know if it was her or her doubles partner.

Michigan fights off a bunch of match points at #4. Second set now 5-5.
Michigan wilting at #2. Now down 0-3 in the second set.
Michigan wins #1 singles 6-4, 6-2.

Stanford wins 6-0, 7-5 at #4.
Michigan 2, Stanford 2
However, Michigan takes the second set at #3!!!
2-6, 6-2.
Need this third set.
Vanderbilt beat Virginia so the winner of Stanford-Michigan will take on the defending national champs in the Final Four.
Bad news on #3, good news on #2 and #5.
Michigan is down 0-3 in the third set at #3 singles.
Michigan just won the second set 6-4 at #5 singles. (4-6, 6-4)
Michigan also just won the second set at #2 singles 6-4. (4-6, 6-4)
We must win two of these three matches.
#5 looks pretty much over as she is down 2 breaks now. #3 is on serve now along with #2.
Michigan will have to win #2 and #3 to advance barring a miracle at #5.
Lol your comment was 15 minutes after mine. But yes, you're right.
In the future, just make a new comment rather than reply to an old one "correcting" it with an "actually".
Michigan is going to need wins at #2 and #3 most likely.
We lead 4-3 at #3 and are tied 2-2 at #2.
Fahey on 9 has come back from down 3-0 to take the lead 4-3. She is playing great right now. Ruder-Hook is down 4-0, so it looks like it will come down to Fahey and Minor, who is tied 2-2.
5-2 at #2
5-4 at #3
1-5 at #5
Stanford's #2 girl is collapsing. Looks like it'll come down to #3. LET'S GO BLUE!!! This is going to be so close.
Fahey is playing great on #3 to get back in this.
Fahey wins another game, now up 5-4. Minor also won another game, now up 4-2. Ruder-Hook is down 5-1.
Stanford holds serve easily at #3
5-5. Michigan serving.
Fahey is playing tough, but to be honest, the Stanford player looks more talented. Hope she can pull it out.
Stanford wins 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 at #5 singles.
Stanford 3, Michigan 2
It's tied up.
Fahey is 5-5, Minor is 5-2. Ruber-Hook just lost 6-1. Overall, Michigan is down 2-3, so they need to win these last two.
MICHIGAN WINS 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 at #2 Singles!!!!
Michigan 3, Stanford 3
All comes down to #3
Michigan up 6-5, Stanford serving.
6-6.
Had one match point, but Stanford held serve.
Tiebreaker to decide the Final Four berth.
Tiebreak to determine #3. Down 2-0.
It's slipping away. Down 5-0 in tiebreak.
Down 5-1 in the tiebreak as they switch sides.
Going to be tough to overcome.
Stanford girl is mostly lobbing it now/just keeping it in play and letting our player make errors. She's in her head.
The Stanford player on #3 double faulted twice, but still lost 7-4. Tough ending.
Michigan loses 4-3. Best season in W Tennis history though!

Best postseason for sure.
Arguably not best season in total though, because they did lose the Big Ten regular season (came in third) and the Big Ten tournament title (came in second).
Still future looks very bright and it was a hell of a season.
We still beat #2 UNC and went farther than no other team in Michigan history did this year. Not even the team that ran through the B1G on a rampage got this far/beat UNC.
I know. Although, UNC didn't even make it to the Elite 8 this year (lost in the Sweet Sixteen to #14 Virginia), so you could argue they were not as good as the team we faced last year. Losing to Ohio State twice this season hurts though.
I think there's an argument to go both ways. I don't really feel strongly one way or the other, doesn't seem clear cut.
Big Ten Title + Big Ten Tournament Title + Sweet Sixteen exit vs. Elite Eight exit + Regular season victory over highest ranked team we've beaten. Seems pretty even.
There's lots of reason to believe that next season could fire on all cylinders and be the definite best ever. Great coach and great players.
Stanford wins the tiebreaker 7-4, to take #3 singles 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 away from Michigan
Stanford 4, Michigan 3
Absolute heartbreaker, but a hell of a fight.
And that is it. Michigan loses in a tiebreaker game 7-4. Great effort today and great season.
