Volleyball takes down #10 MSU on the road
Solid win for #17 Michigan. Watched it on MGoBlueTV. The pep band was actually there in EL.
After being down 1-0 in a hostile environment, the ladies stormed back and won three straight games to take the match 3-1. The gap is quickly closing on the series record. Michigan is now 39-48 against state.
Michigan is now 14-6 overall and 4-5 in the B1G at 9th place. Keep in mind, Michigan did not finish very high in the B1G last year and went to the Final 4.
The B1G is arguably the best volleyball conference in the country (like basketball and wrestling).
7/12 conference teams are ranked, including ohio who is 10th place in the B1G at #24.

Hopefully the football team can do likewise.

I was interrupted and missed the 3rd game, but the last one was incredible. It was tied and no one could score the match point. Apparently that's how the 3rd game went. Those Michigan women would not give up! UM/MSU 20/25, 25/22, 26/24 and 32/30.

It's especially sweet to win a hard fought victory in the opposing team's venue.

Omens are a good thing.
Volleyball is a sport I became a fan of last year and loved it. Non stop action. I watch some games on BTN and it is really fun to watch.

I have become a bigger fan over the last year or so as my daughter has started playing. I actually know a lot more about the game now and it is fun to watch.

is one of the few sports my wife gets actively engaged in, even if it's Michigan volleyball (she's an Illinois grad)! She played volleyball in HS, IM in college, and coached for a stint afterward. I learn quite a bit about spacing, role responsibilities, strategy, etc.

my daughter and I actually watched Indiana play PSU a week or so ago, it was really interresting. She was impressed by how hard the ladies were zipping that ball around. Also by the way, Indiana has a girl that is 4'11" on the team, I thought she must be very good to get the scholarship at Div I and be that short.

The crowd was electric. Over 6k fans showed up. About 70/30 msu/um split, with about 50/50 split of wandering fans. By this, I mean they ran out of seats. Many (such as myself) had to watch the game from an obstructed view angle.
Honestly, the teams were evenly matched despite the 3-1 game victory.
I've watched MSU 4 times this year in person and they were making sloppy mistakes today I haven't seen all year. I bet MSU and UM will meet in the tourney this year.

lots of Big Ten teams at the top
Iowa looks like the worst team and even they are at .500
Apparently there is still at Big East in volleyball

I was in volleyball pep band for several years, and we did have one road trip to MSU. It's indeed a hostile environment, so credit the team for pulling it out.

Maybe the student section forgot to show up with their cleverly conceived, "You Off" t-shirts?
