Video of Tonight's MBB Open Practice

I couldn't make it to tonight's basketball open practice, but I did see a few videos posted. You'll find one HERE, posted by The Wolverine. At least in this clip, our first team looks better than our second team. Duh.

Did any you people go? What's the report?

Johns is out there eventually in this clip. There's a nice sequence of an and one from Brooks, three by Livers, three by Nunez, and a three by Castleton.

Looked like Castleton and Teske were out there together.

Would have been great to have Franz getting these reps with the 1s. They need all the offensive firepower they can get.

Bajema canned a beautiful 3 where he was covered but he released it at the top of his 6-7 frame with a very high arc (his ability to get off that shot could have big impact at the 2 spot if Wagner is slow to recover). I also liked Bajema's ability to recover on a Brooks drive where he blocked it at the bucket.

Overall I came away less impressed than the last three “Selfie Nights”. I can’t remember Teske doing much maybe a block, and a few misses of mid rangers. Bajema hit a few from deep but looks like a high schooler. Johns almost seemed to be limping a bit. Franz  looked good taking selfies.

I was there and it was kind of sloppy at first for the about the first 8 minutes. Blue team (starters minus Johns) built a lead up but Maize came back thanks to the shooting of Cole Bajema.

The starting 5 retook the lead once Brandon Johns came in. We seemed to really gel during the second 10 minute period and dare I say looked pretty damn good. David DeJulius on the Maize Team was the most impressive. Looked like late career Derrick Walton out there.

We had a variety of looks on defense. Blue went to a 2-3 zone and a 1-3-1. The 2-3 zone worked pretty well causing a couple turnovers that led to buckets on the other end.

Very excited for the exhibition on Friday to learn more.
