I have a good feeling we can be the King of the Tire Fire.

Side question: Who is the high school teammate playing for WMU or Toledo?
October 4th, 2012 at 1:27 AM ^
Adrian Witty?
October 4th, 2012 at 1:42 AM ^
It looks like 5-9, 180 So. WR Cassius McDowell.

Witty plays for the Bearcats of Cinci. I know this because I mistakenly thought he played for Louisville and tweeted that I saw him at a local establishment and that Louisville fans suck because they don't even know their players, etc. and then later found out it wasn't Adrian Witty because Adrian Witty plays for the Bearcats of Cinci. Coolest bro story ever bro.
Sometimes I tweet stuff quickly and without thinking of the consequences. I find this to be horrible yet extremely normal, like if everyone killed squirrels with their bare hands and I knew it was bad, but everybody did it and so I did it and still felt bad, but everyone does it so it's normal. Kind of like that.

Cassius McDowell is the guy from Deerfield Park who is now a running back for Toledo. He's putting up decent numbers. He supposedly had an offer from Michigan back in the day, but I don't know how serious of an offer that was...

The smile is back!
Go Denard! Go Blue!

I hardly recognized the QB they interviewed after the ND loss--Denard without a smile is not Denard.

Have to love all the Hokeisms that is very apparent in all the player interviews. Denard has said numerous times since the ND game that he has to be "accountable" and he wasn't "accountable". He mentioned that again in the Journey last night. I have never heard a group of guys mention the team and goals so frequently and deflect any type of personal hype so often. It isn't just football or hard nosed football but what they want to do is play "Michigan Football". Good to hear Hoke's message is hitting home with these guys and I hope they use it to stay out of trouble, make themselves proud and make our University proud. Go Blue!

On the flip side to that, you never get to know the real personality of the kids. They are just regurgitating what they have been told to regurgitate. The reason we love Denard so much is that in his early career he wasn't told what to do or say in interviews and you got to see the real him.
I think there is going to be a swift return to Navarre-easter-island-head-statue interviews where I fall asleep as the players turn into robots who repeat things over and over and over and over and over all season long until I don't even know them and have little genuine cohesiveness with them thusly care about them (in a brotherly sense) slightly less.

Valid points. I was going to put a part about that in my original post but it slipped my mind by the end of it. I guess you take the good with the bad. It is fun to see their personalities shine through and hopefully there will be other outlets to see that part of these guys.
I always wonder with the abundance of coverage of when these kids screw up how they continue to make these bonehead decisions. They are young men and do think that it won't happen to them (as I thought at that age), when that is very much untrue. The public humiliation of Stonum, Tousaint, and Clark will hopefully act as a deterent in the future to not make poor decisions that affect them and their standing with the football team and also the law. In that sense it is good that they are listening to their coach and hopefully the message is clear that the expectation is to keep their nose clean.

I don't know about "public humiliation." I have had a couple good friends who got hit with a DUI. It sucks for them, but they are still my buddies. I don't shame them. I bust their balls though for sure. I consider myself lucky to have never gotten one.
If we had Twitter when I was in high school I am pretty sure I wouldn't have made it out. If we had Twitter when I was in college I would be in jail right now. I feel lucky to have grown up when I did, but at the same time I quit FB because I hate hearing about what people ate for breakfast or how dialated some broad I knew back in high schools cervix is at 6:30AM. I guess if you hate something or you are annoyed by something you remove it from your life. I think that may happen with all of this social media stuff at some point, but what do I know I am just some dude who posts on a Michigan blog and then gets negged by Magnus.

football players are discussing a dilated cervix at 6:30 am and why that would drive you to quit football and what that has to do with... Oh. FB also stands for Facebook?
Sigh. Too many words, too few acronyms.
