If Michigan loses Bufkin, Love is a guy who can get his own shot and averages 16 ppg. He's a streaky shooter who shot 36% from 3 a couple of years ago, but struggled this year, only shooting 30%. Somewhat of a high usage guy like Marcus Carr was coming out of Minnesota.
He's a combo guard and ranked #10 in 247's transfer portal rankings.

It's funny because last year everyone was talking about how Hubert Davis was some amazing coach and would be leading UNC back to prominence and then he bombs out this year and looks like that team is falling apart.
It could be a Kevin Ollie at UCONN situation. Flash in the pan early, then fizzles out real fast.

have you seen him play? if most of the fabase didn't like Jett, this guy is the ultimate team killer. There is a reason UNC went from playing in the NC to bot making the tourney, only losing that white guy, and he was most of it.

Love would not be a Bufkin replacement. He’s a ball dominant, inefficient PG who can’t shoot. He’s had 3 years and plenty of opportunity to crack it at UNC and hasn’t
Jameer Nelson Jr. is in the portal as well - could use another PG (especially one with experience). Perhaps he would like to play for the same coach (Martelli) his dad what seems like not too long ago.

Love has blown ass this year. He's selfish with the ball, can't rebound, won't pass, and barely shot 30% from 3 with a ton of open looks. No thanks.
Yeah, I don't think Love is much of an upgrade over players UM could use on this team.
Uncertain that Love is the best fit for us. They are in desperate need of shooting depth and unless he significantly improves his make percentages and cleans up his shot selection, he will offer very little to help de-clog the paint for Dickinson (assuming he comes back) and the driving lanes for McDaniel. Also concerned about this usage rates, they are over 25% and whenever I watched UNC this year he didn't play well off ball (you can't have two highly ball dependent guards on the floor with Dickinson, and potentially Reed at the same time).
