And in B1G related news, the Sparty AD is working with the B1G to have only home games for everyone during the B1G regular season.

They're also doing a bunch of layoffs including almost half of their lecturers. They're in trouble.

One of these days smart people will realize that Case numbers alone for a virus that the majority have zero symptoms of and almost everyone recovers from is not really meaningful.

The only important numbers are hospitalizations and capacity, period. Case numbers reported without those and death trends are malpractice. Yet eaten up by the media and many of us.

That reporting case #'s without the context of hospitalizations and deaths is wrong? First I'd offer my sympathies then sure, but how does that apply? I'm arguing nothing other than presenting case numbers without the context of hospitalizations and deaths is misleading, and those that negged the comment are just simply wrong.

That's why I check that site. It shows cases and deaths. I haven't found one that tracks hospitalizations. I do think that when we go from having only 1 day exceeding 4000 cases, to having over 6000 today, something happened. My first guess was a data dump of old cases, but California is opening up and has been the scene of many protests starting about a month ago. I hope the 7-day moving average of the fatalities keeps trending downward, but I doubt that's going to happen. I found out today that someone I was talking to last week tested positive. She was wearing a mask, we were 5-6 feet apart, and only spoke for 5-10 minutes. But that's been at the front of my mind all day. CDC says I don't need to take a test, but I should stay home for 14 days. My work didn't notify me even though they know of the positive test. I suppose they think that wasn't a close encounter. I don't know. I'll limit my time outside the house, wear a mask, take my temperature daily, and keep living my life. Fuck covid.

That's likely from the millions of protesters that been out there last three weeks. The one photo in Los Angeles was the largest swarm of people I've seen in a protest ever.

The virus must have had a field day.

Non-revenue sports everywhere will take a hit this year - some worse than others, especially at smaller schools.  Not a surprise when the schools themselves are facing existential crises.
