UA All-American Game also in Orlando (1/2/16): List of M Recruits

Submitted by Mr. Yost on

Special shoutout to BooKooBlue who brought this up in the Citrus Bowl Thread. The UA All-American Game is 1/2/16 at 12:00pm.

  1. If you're going to Orlando - may as well try and catch this game
  2. Michigan coaches will be practicing in the same facilities as the UA All-Americans - recruits can come watch practice
  3. Both games are played at the Florida Citrus Bowl
  4. Michigan has a number of recruits from the SE part of the country
  5. Should give coaches more scouting opportunities

I'd assume the odds are good but I really feel that is insignificant. He can jump on a jet and be there no matter when they play. The real key here is that all these kids will have access to see Mich and staff at practice. And if these kids get to actually see the game live, that could be even bigger.

I agree, but for my personal plans Harbaugh being there pushes this from probably not worth driving back to Orlando to probably worth it.

I don't know if he made a point of hitting these games at Stanford or whether Hoke/RR/Carr have in the past either.

Michigan has offered lots and lots more recruits who are playing in the UA game, too.

I might throw Jeffrey McCulloch and Devin White into that list of players to watch, too, although they're longshots.

Dec 13 thru Jan 14 is a "dead period" for recruiting. So I doubt much contact allowed. I'd doubt that would allow players to attend any Michigan or Florida practices. Our staff could be in the stands I assume to watch them but I would assume same for many staffs.

They can't recruit during that period, but recruits can make the contact.

And because we're all in the same city/facillites, we have the advantage of recruits being able to initiate the contact and come watch practice.

If you can't call them on the phone and recruit them, it's nice to know you can have a chat with him on the sideline during stretches should they want to attend your practice.

We're cut off from many of the other guys...but we still have some access to the names listed above (and the ones Magnus listed). Which is the majority of our recruiting board.

I don't know...says they may write or phone only. Can't chat to them. Maybe a loophole to go watch a college practice as long as they never talk to staff. Can't tell from website. In theory you could text them while they are in stands maybe but at that point you are talking spirit of law vs letter of law. Would be curious how compliance views it.

Didn't Bama practice at Dr.Phillips HS for its bowl game a few years back?  I believe they were recruitng Ha Ha plus Dee Hart and also threw in a overhaul of the gym as a cherry on top.
