With no GLI, there was a long layoff for most of our hockey players. But returning to BT play with a Sparty shutout beatdown was just what the doctor ordered. Largest margin of victory since 1/30/93, when we won 11-1 at the Joe. Nine different Wolverines scored a goal; Kent Johnson had a goal & 4 assists; Mann had two (2!) assists. Now prepare your long-handled, bristle-ended cleaning implements.

I know it's been at least a few years, but when did state start ripping off the Red Wing's rally theme (the Malaguena-esque charge theme)? Detroit had played that at LCA/Joe Louis for decades, but it seems it's been at Munn for the past 2-3 years or so.

If they determine it's contact with the head, is it mandatory that both the major and game misconduct penalties be assessed? Can it be one or the other?

It's a major and a GM or a DQ for a violent hit. DQ means suspension for an additional game, with another game for each additional DQ. If I read the rules correctly, it's 3 GMs before an additional game suspension.
