FYI because this stupid game is on Peacock Premium, I found out that Comcast, Cox, and Spectrum subscribers can get free premium for up to a year so you may be in luck
Alternative is to grumble and pay $4.99 for a subscription you immediately cancel Sunday morning
Or you could go to onhockey.tv or find the mgocrazy stream (if he's doing it)
February 25th, 2022 at 6:53 PM ^
For those planning to stream onhockey.tv, the game is currently not listed on their slate of games.

Mel's gonna try the super line again tonight. Love it
Michigan's running an Olympics line of Johnson/Beniers/Brisson. Interesting to see how they insert back into the lineup.

So I'd guess we'll see that followed by
Pasta-Bordeleau-Estapa
Samo-Beecher-Duke
Moyle-GVW-PLP
Keranen as the extra skater?
February 25th, 2022 at 6:55 PM ^
And still not on TV for the majority of us…
February 25th, 2022 at 6:57 PM ^
3pts locks up a cotitle and 4 outright?
February 25th, 2022 at 7:09 PM ^
@Michigan Arrogance
No, 4 locks up a cotitle no matter what Minnesota does. 5+ and Michigan wins outright
February 25th, 2022 at 7:09 PM ^
@Michigan Arrogance
Minnesota can max out at 55 points to our current 51, so wouldnt we need 4 to ensure a cotitle? Minnesota could beat us 55-54 with us splitting

I use peacock but never for a sporting event,,, is it still “your event will start shortly?”
Edit: my bad, now I see it’s 730, not 7 ,,

If youre a big soccer fan, Peacock isn't the worst investment in the world. They also just extended their contract with the premier league so they'll have them for the foreseeable future. Otherwise, I legitimately can't think of a good reason to have Peacock. Theyre original shows aren't good and their other stuff is also on other streaming services (outside of the Office)
February 25th, 2022 at 7:11 PM ^
Some 4th line, eh?
February 25th, 2022 at 7:14 PM ^
@tlo, I see "Coverage to begin shortly. Stay tuned."

If Tech takes even a point off of Minnesota State in two games this weekend, it gives Michigan the common opponent comparison. Minnesota State would still have a chance to remedy that if they play LSSU in the playoffs (possible!) and win. But if they lose the common opponent comparison to us our comparison lead over them is unassailable. Which doesn't guarantee a better seed--RPI is still the tie-breaker--but it can help.

I just discovered that my Spectrum subscription gives me a free year of Peacock, *and* I enjoy soccer, *and* I also watch Supercross, so this is fortuitous. I'll be watching.
February 25th, 2022 at 7:21 PM ^
re: The Lineup--yeah, makes sense that three guys who have been out for a few weeks would get dumped in the last line so they could have time to learn how to play at game speed, or something.
February 25th, 2022 at 7:30 PM ^
Other games: PSU 1, MSU 1, late 1st.
MN St 0, MTU 1, mid 1st.

The rare instance where hockeys gonna be in HD

Turned on a Peacock Premium trial a few weeks ago to catch the Super Bowl and found out that the game was available today via MGoBlog.
To be completely honest, I know very little about hockey (mostly tuned into Football and Basketball), but looking forward to the game. Hear a lot of good things about this year's team, really excited to tune in!

GOOOALLLL! Great assist by Samo and great read by Blankenburg to walk down

Great pass by Mackie.
Perfect picture of Mel’s roster strategy: combining young NHL talent with older four-year guys with experience and stability.
February 25th, 2022 at 7:42 PM ^
Notre Dame getting too many good entries into our zone
February 25th, 2022 at 7:44 PM ^
February 25th, 2022 at 7:46 PM ^
FUCK! They score, 1-1.
February 25th, 2022 at 7:46 PM ^
Ugh. Goal ND. Their first real offensive control in the zone and they get a goal off of a wild rebound.
February 25th, 2022 at 7:46 PM ^
Agh. 1-1
on the plus side, now i don’t have to worry about blowing a 2-0 lead again tonight
defense has been shaky so far
February 25th, 2022 at 7:48 PM ^
Other than that, Michigan has controlled most of play. Some good work from Mackie. 1-1 halfway through the first.
February 25th, 2022 at 7:50 PM ^
Feels like we might need some help from Wisconsin this weekend
February 25th, 2022 at 7:56 PM ^
ND’s neutral zone vice starting to clamp down a bit.
February 25th, 2022 at 8:00 PM ^
Great pressure there by the olympians. What an absurdity it is to have a line of all first rounders
February 25th, 2022 at 8:00 PM ^
Re: needing help from Wisconsin - I can tell you I don’t feel Uber-confident about our ability to sweep. This is Jeff Jackson. He has been Michigan’s Kryptonite for 30 years.
It may not be a coincidence that Red’s two titles occurred when Jackson was out of college.
February 25th, 2022 at 8:02 PM ^
That was great pressure, agreed. Luke was the D pairing for it. Has Mel iced a Fab Five lineup for significant ice time yet?
February 25th, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
Yikes. Close to another ND goal. Very close.
February 25th, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
Oh, man, thought they scored again.
February 25th, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
Phew. Off the post
February 25th, 2022 at 8:04 PM ^
1-1 after one.
