Announcement set for Todd Thomas

Todd Thomas of Beaver Falls, Pa., rated No. 27 among athletes in Class 2009, is expected to make his decision public on Thursday (Oct. 16).

Being recruited as a receiver, the 6-foot-3 prospect has narrowed his choices to Pittsburgh, Michigan, West Virginia and Penn State. He also has offers from Ohio State, Miami-Florida and Iowa, among many others.

Does Michigan have a legitemate shot at getting this guy?  Would be a reasonable replacement for McNeal decommiting.

I think the timing is a little bit odd if he weren't jumping to take the place of McNeal.  Maybe the staff had told him they couldn't take another outside receiver, but when McNeal backed out, they called up Thomas again.  But when I watch video of Thomas, he looks like he's running really slowly.  He runs past a lot of people, but still...he's no McNeal.

Even though the timing is odd, though, I don't think he's choosing Michigan.

Michigan has always been his favorite. Michigan never recruited or offered him. He would get the sad josh smiley face.

Also, there's a 1% chance he'll even qualify out of high school. He's prep school bound either way.

Neither Michigan nor PSU is even recruiting this guy. The decision he SHOULD be making is what prep school he's going to attend, and then Pittsburgh. He's a good player, but he needs to learn to be a good student.
