Ticket question for LCA Tourney tomorrow

Submitted by dmac24 on
I have 2 tickets to the tournament session tomorrow through work. I plan on taking my dad, but he can’t make until 2:30 (For the MSU game). LCA allows you to leave and come back (Verified that this morning) on the same ticket. I would like to take a Purdue friend to the first game and have him give his ticket to my dad for the MSU game. My questions is, is there anything that LCA would do (Stamp hand, etc) that might not make that possible? Thanks!

I highly doubt they allow you to leave and come back other than maybe to an outdoor smoking area, but if they do then yes it would involve some type of wristband or stamp.  No way you can rescan a ticket.

Not sure where you verified the fact that you can leave and then come back in.  I went yesterday and they made it VERY clear that there was NO RE-ENTRY.  I didn't press the issue because I had no intention of leaving and then going back in.  The scalping game if there was re-entry allowed would be mayhem.  not saying you are wrong, but like I said, we didn't ask anybody about re-entry and we were told a couple different times that it was a no no.  Good luck, hope it works out for you.

Possible, but they didn't say anything about this ticket won't work for the 2nd session, just "If you leave you will not be re-admitted."  I would get names and titles and even contact information for who is giving you the re-entry advice.  Maybe the workers at the entry points were wrong yesterday, or maybe rules are different today, but I would be shocked if you can leave and come back.

I am 100% positive that once you left the stadium, you could not reenter.

If you left during Session 1, you could only come back with a seperate ticket for Session 2.  Each ticket got you in to the stadium exactly one time.

I would be very surprised if this changed for the Sunday games.  If would call again and double check with somebody else.

I am shocked that LCA would allow re-entry. I guess the question is are you willing to risk your dad not getting into the game? I would probably lean towards having your Purdue friend buy their own ticket either online or outside and sit with you for first game and have your Dad keep his own ticket.

I highly, HIGHLY doubt LCA will allow you reentry.

Maybeeeee to the Pistons, but this is controlled by the NCAA not necessarily the arena. There's almost no way.

Don't even think about it.  I don't care what you were told by LCA.  There's almost no way that they'll allow re-entry, and they're definitely not going to allow two different people to enter on the same ticket.  At best, they'd do a hand stamp.

This is pretty much standard at every event everywhere, since the first enterprising college students snuck 5 people in on one ticket by shuttling it in and out of the stadium.  (Imagine your friend didn't leave, but you took his ticket out to your dad.  Now all three of you are inside, with only two tickets).

however, technology is getting better.  i know at the cub games they can scan your ticket and you can leave the stadium onto an outdoor open to the public park area.  then you can scan your ticket back in and re-enter.

that said, almost every game and/or concert is no re-entry nowadays.

From my experience at NCAA tournaments in Spokane and Portland, there's no re-entry within a session.  The NCAA is greedy and assuming they get a piece of concessions, they don't want people leaving, grabbing a bite, and coming back; or allowing multiple people use the same ticket/

Agree with the posters above that they did not allow re-entry during the same session.

LCA does have the bar/restaurants which are connected to the stadium but open to the public, so outside the ticketed area. For other events, I believe they allow you to leave with a handstamp and sit in the bar, then come back in. But, this was clearly not allowed when I tried to do this yesterday.

Depending on who cares more about being in the arena for the game, a potential compromise is to sit with your friend or dad in the bar (Mike's pizza, Sports and Social, or Kid Rock's bar) for one game, and use the ticket for the other game. Since there is no booze served inside, this is a much better option if you want to get wasted.

At the Big Ten Basketball tournament last year, then would stamp your hand so only the person who left could re-enter. The Big Ten Softball tournament had a less sophisticated means of monitoring re-entry.
