There are…

12 - TWELVE - MCNAMARA - days until Michigan straps on the winged helmets to slay GA in the CFP semifinals!

Favorite memory of 2021 featuring Cade (game manager or dragon slayer?) McNamara…

I’ll get it started with this from Yahoo sports after the road win against PSU:

All of Michigan’s 21 points were a result of big throws by McNamara — two perfectly placed passes in the end zone to Roman Wilson and the underneath crossing route to Erick All to seal the game vs. Penn State.

Honorable mention to #12 on defense Josh Ross.

That’s a service provided by JWG. Which is why the original “There are” in this CFP series was also a Bat Signal for JWG to take over! Anyone is welcome to take the wheel on behalf of those who find these worthy. No offense will be taken. In fact, I’d prefer it!

XM, you had some nice photos below… you up for the handoff?

PS - JWG as I recall was MMB this year. Probably busy working on a NYE spectacular!

That stop Ross made on third down against osu on their first offensive series of the second half was a thing of beauty. That was the start of the demise of the bucks on that fateful day... Honorable mention is an understatement.

What's amazing about that day is that the roles on offense for both teams were completely reversed for what everyone assumed would happen.

OSU lives off the big play and scores points quickly and in bunches. That was its key to winning the game. Crush your spirit early and build an insurmountable lead.

Michigan had to do everything possible to shorten the game and have long, clock-consuming drives that forced Stroud and Co. to stay on the sideline that consistently resulted in TDs. That was its key to winning the game.

Instead, it was Michigan who spent the entire second half living off the big play. If I recall correctly, no drives lasting longer than five or six snaps. All had big plays, no drive had a third down. All drives resulted in TDs. OSU scored points but had multiple drives that just burned clock. They had to dink and dunk down the field, settled for several field goals, and Michigan made them earn every single yard.

If you'd told me before the game that was what was going to happen in the second half but didn't tell me which team was which, I would've told you that OSU was absolutely the team not needing more than five snaps a series to score. Both teams assumed the other team's offensive gameplan. In OSU's case, not willingly, but it was still a really interesting thing to consider.

I don’t care about Xmas or basically anything else outside of the 31st. I’m gonna do a liver detox 5 days before so I’m in tip too shape and ready to rock. I said after we beat OSU that I didn’t give a shit what happened after. That was in fact a huge lie.
