There are...
...days until Irv Wisniewski (End 1946-1949) supports the Wolverines in spirit as they host Western Michigan on September 4th at the Big House.

Go Blue.
Part of the fun of this countdown is learning more about the lives of players you might not otherwise know outside of their Michigan playing careers.
Two things about Irv Wisniewski:
1) He played basketball too, winning a Big Ten Championship in addition to all of the football glory of the era.
2) He was another part of the Crisler-era pipeline that brought our beloved winged helmet to the Delaware Blue Hens!
Enjoy.
I mention the winged helmet every time I encounter someone from Delaware.
How often is that? I forget Delaware is still a state half the time.
Also something about the other college’s use of the winged helmet with different colors just seems so… amateurish to me.
Delaware isn't a state
Its a conspiracy
Delaware isn't a state
You're right. Delaware isn't a state. It's a state of mind.
Instead, I see it as a combination tribute and camaraderie.
Let's start pulling some ticket stubs from 1948, shall we?
I just got a notice from the Packers that printed tickets are officially a thing of the past in Green Bay. They still will mail commemorative "ticket stubs" to season ticket holders...so lame.
I wonder if the trend really is about being contactless (although every other time the usher takes my filthy cell phone to find some shade or a better angle to read the qr code) or to simply corner the market on secondary tickets in order to recoup some losses from 2020.
2pm kickoff. How civilized. You can eat lunch before the game then head out to dinner after the game and keep everything on a normal schedule. Then TV came along and screwed that up.
And the games didn't last 3 1/2 hours!
And the games didn't last 3 1/2 hours!
TV ruins everything. Time for another cord cutting thread!
Felman Malveaux also wore #84, correct?
You are correct. Played from 91-94.
From Beaumont Texas.
