Don't worry – you can hold your negs. There's no way I'd ever forget that exhilarating speed (and that contagious smile) that kept my Michigan fandom intact during its most trying times.
We love you always.
While that compilation may come close to producing tears of joy, this full game (that's as good as it gets) honoring a different #16 may produce a different kind considering its historical context...
Enjoy!

T-Shirt Countdown hits 2005 today. This is in many ways the unique one of the collection, being the only shirt that was blue (and not maize), and the only one that came with a hat:

No Jay Riemersma love?
(hard to argue for him over your three #16s, but I liked Jay a lot)

Digging deep for this one, in two seasons he played UCLA three times, some good seasons he lead for Michigan

John Navarre is the Rodney Dangerfield of M football QBs.

And he's such a good dude. Had the pleasure of meeting him and talking 2003 Minnesota.
He will always be one of my favorites because of how he handled himself and how he's considered less memorable than so many others.
He should never have been the starter as early as he was - that's on Henson and Lloyd. He didn't play special teams in 2003. Henne broke all Navarre's records (essentially). I own that I'm definitely a Navarre defender.
Go Blue! Beat the Gophers!

steve almost didn't get to play in that '83 rose bowl game. was caught with a 'guest' in his room after bed-check earlier in the week. and we had quite shin-dig that new years eve, the night before the game. no wonder we lost by 10.
