on a road trip, and i looked it up on 'google earth' last night.  the stadium itself sits at about 4600 feet, and the  various places in the wasatch range relatively close by (mostly to the northeast) go up to over 9,000 feet.  is a pretty place, and there are some very pleasant places to fly fish right near by.  if it was that time of my life, i'd have been fishing out there all week, then to the game with all the maize and blue faithful.

have fun guys.  there is a very good chance it will be an excellent football game and a michigan victory.

My excitement level for Thursday night is starting to scare me :). I'm considering taking the day off work to prepare mentally for the Utah game

For Kauai as described under past nom de guerres over the decade. Fantastic destination, routine backpacks up insanely gorgeous Hanakapiai Falls and Napoli Coast, with annual islander license, in the past.

Couldn't give a rip this year. I already have the food and beverages stocked for Thursday night. No plans whatsoever aside from watching the game. Usually I would fret the work I need to finish before leaving in communicado for tens of hours.

This year, nobody gets through from three hours pregame until I land on Kauai on Friday. Zip, zero, null, void, nada. Win or lose (win BTW) my chinstrap is snapped on for the Utah battle and it makes me feel decades younger biotches.

My nipples could cut glass.

That pick in the championship game! Wow, we were lucky to see the best athlete to ever put on a Michigan uniform, and maybe the best in all of college ever. Charles was that special of an athlete. He made that defense play better with no fear of a deep ball even having a chance on most of the field.

Ah, yes, Charles Woodson days. I was very fortunate that those days were also my days at Michigan, or at least most of them. Definitely one of those rare few where you went to the games wondering, "Now, how will he wow everyone this week?" and never did he disappoint.

The wait is killing me at this point - I have no effing clue how I am going to even work effectively tomorrow and Thursday.

One of the other great players to wear #2 for Michigan: Walter Smith.

Co-captain of the 1994 team, and had one of the coolest moments in Michigan Stadium on Senior Day in 1994- he broke his leg earlier in the year, but Coach Moeller put him out on the field so he could catch one last pass as a Wolverine at the end of the game on a bum leg. I was a student then and the crowd went nuts.

I have watched that play hundreds of times at this point and today is the first time I noticed how awesome it was that Dhani Jones planted the MSU player at the end. This play just keeps getting better with age!
