Is there any journalist out there giving us any love on the allegations?
Seriously, has anyone heard any reporters other than the Michigan blogsites and websites who are giving us any love or are manly enough to stand up and say that Rosenberg either at best stretched his info or at worst committed slander or are they all dancing to the music of their journalistic brothers?

is the only major national or local media outlet I've read or heard over the past two days that is hell bent on crucifying Michigan. Everyone else seems to be very level-headed, like they are in a wait and see mode.

Joe Schad (ESPN) has made some fairly good comments (did mention GPA, did mention that voluntary hours are not counted, corrected the ESPN talking heads on their allegation that RR had not denied the allegations, etc.).
But, as soon as he is off, the talking heads start reading the teleprompters and go right back to the same old BS -- totally ignoring what Schad just said.

Jonathan Chait, a UM grad and senior editor at The New Republic rips Rosenberg pretty well here:

The article was published on a UM site and Chait is an alumn. However, he certainly qualifies as a high profile journalist.
He and Rosenberg were both at UM around the same time (as was I) and IIRC they both wrote for the Daily, so there is the possibility that a personal element lies under this. Nonetheless, he takes Rosenberg to task effectively.

On ESPN nonetheless. But, since a whole lot of folks still watch it, glad to see him there. He essentially debunks the 20 hour myth by pointing out that weight training is at least 5 hours per week, breaking down film another 8 hours per week, leaving only 7 hours left and you haven't even practiced yet!

I was in my car listening to the ESPN radio station down here, and the guy substituting for Doug Gottlieb (Jeff something) downplayed it. He called it something like "a case of c'mon, kids, grow up; this is the real world." He really pretty much laughed it off as a lot of crap about nothing. He also said what many are saying, that if you want to succeed in anything, you have to put in the work.
There is a USA Today article that is friendly, too.
The Bleacher Report has about six links; IIRC, three are friendly, two are neutral, and one might as well have been written by Rosenpuke.
Sorry, but I don't have links to any of this stuff. Happy searching.

I think we're better off for not having any links to the Bleacher Report.

RR is a good guy, great history, lots of success the right way -- earned, not given.

Ive been a reader for a long time but have never posted, just want to say thanks to you guys for the endless hours of entertaining thoughts and opinions. With that said, I live 45 mins. north west of the Epiccenter of evil, in Marysville, Ohio, and actually Bruce Hooley and Chris Spielman were fairly unbiased and really shrugged this off. Herpestriet, basically defended us the little bit that heard, he was more about the locker room and current player aspect.
