TGIF - Watcha drinking to kick off the weekend?
Enzoni for me. Gin (Brokers), Campari, lemon juice and simple syrup. Muddle grapes (I used blueberries, as I didn't have grapes) and shake with ice. Strain and pour. Consume. Repeat. Look at Christmas tree and all the pretty lights. Wait until Sunday's basketball game.

Do I buy the Zima or the O’Douls?
December 11th, 2020 at 6:44 PM ^
Boone’s Farm or MadDog. Those are horrid!
December 11th, 2020 at 8:57 PM ^
The sangria at dominics has mad dog. I lost a lot of memory there. Yum yum.
December 11th, 2020 at 10:36 PM ^
Boone’s, Mad Dog, and Olde English is 90% of the reason I barely remember high school.
massive amounts of weed and acid is the other 10%.
Astounding I played juniors in Canada and ended up with a PhD from Berkeley. MCB ‘07

Water... It's now trading on wallstreet.
December 11th, 2020 at 8:55 PM ^
I have a plan to fix the water issue. Six inch pbc, buried under free ways, solar/ electric 1-2 horse power pool pumps. Get water from where flooding to where arid. Secondly, the amount of grey water wasted is astonishing. My little city does 600k gallons a day. Not potable, but perfect for irrigation.
December 11th, 2020 at 10:40 PM ^
The waste is astounding ...

Looks delicious! Reminds me of my bartending days many moons ago.
Alternating between Sierra Nevada Torpedo and Switchback Ale. Been a long week.

Mrs. is making her famous sloppy joes, washing it down with Domaine du Pegau Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2006. Because sloppy joes.
December 11th, 2020 at 7:07 PM ^
Really? Humblebrag....the part about the Sloppy Joes!
December 11th, 2020 at 7:10 PM ^
The set-up for snark is so obvious there that I actually had to take a pass on it. Tempting? Oh yes. It's just...too easy.
December 12th, 2020 at 12:28 AM ^
Seriously Clarence, I fucking LOVE sloppy joes!!! Beef, salty, and sweet, great mouth feel all in one, what is not to love? Sorry, don't have high brow tastes, just like what I like.
December 11th, 2020 at 6:51 PM ^
I still can't get over xtramelanin referring to red wine as "red pop." What the fuck, dude?
December 11th, 2020 at 7:47 PM ^
clarence, there is way more stuff wrong about me besides 'red pop'. that said, there is a very good chance i will have a coffee cup with a dash of red pop in it very soon. barn chores are done. first real snow storm of the season will hopefully hit tonight/tomorrow. thinking that bow hunting in the snow tomorrow would be really pleasant. pretty fair chance that happens, too.
December 11th, 2020 at 8:51 PM ^
You’re a good man. I have issues with my job, but am great full barn chores isn’t one of my concerns. That said, you are the back bone of what keeps America going. God bless, I’ll do my part and eat tons of beef.
December 11th, 2020 at 10:04 PM ^
pfff. i'm just a schmuck. barn chores this time of year are pretty easy - most of the livestock have been slaughtered, just keep the rest fed/watered. no crops to worry about.
December 11th, 2020 at 9:27 PM ^
Jealous!
December 11th, 2020 at 9:59 PM ^
you know you're invited, and you know the way. plus, i put that 22A gravel down on the camp road so your truck and trailer will have excellent footing. second rifle season for does starts on monday, you can use your rifle for that.

I really like you. Not sure I like to lick ass. We all have our preferences.
December 11th, 2020 at 9:23 PM ^
Come on, Mr. Torrance. We all know there was some wild ass shit happening at that hotel.
December 11th, 2020 at 7:03 PM ^
Fuck, Dave that looks good, even though I can't stand the taste of gin.
Not drinking anything yet but will probably ease into it with a nice packed bowl and a glass or two... or three, it's been a long fucking week, of Petit Verdot.
December 11th, 2020 at 7:03 PM ^
There's recently been a Coors Banquet shortage for whatever reason. Prefer the 12-pack of stubbies but found a 24-pack of cans. No, I don't work on the set of the show The Ranch just like beer that's not too light or too heavy.

One needs not defend one’s preference for a Colorado cold snack
December 11th, 2020 at 7:05 PM ^
That looks delicious!! Enjoy! Probably hard to drink just one.
December 11th, 2020 at 9:44 PM ^
Bitter, sweet and piney. Drink in SMALL glasses, your you'll go blind guzzling these suckers.
December 11th, 2020 at 10:28 PM ^
I expect that is good advice!

Bourbon. Angel’s Envy
December 11th, 2020 at 7:09 PM ^
My favorite! Now that you mention it will have some later this evening. If you are in Louisville, take the plant tour of Angel's Envy.
December 11th, 2020 at 7:13 PM ^
Tour sounds like fun. I typically drink more ryes but needed something smoother at 4pm PST!
December 11th, 2020 at 8:31 PM ^
Make that two of us! And also in SoCal (San Diego)!
December 11th, 2020 at 7:11 PM ^
Wasn't going to, but you talked me into it. Fat Tire for me.

Ranch Water: Fortaleza blanco, half a lime juiced, few slices of fresh jalapeño, rest of glass filled with Topo Chico.
December 11th, 2020 at 8:47 PM ^
Topo choco is the best effervescent for cock tails. Bubble real nice, Clark.
December 11th, 2020 at 7:33 PM ^
Had a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and eyeing a Nitro Vanilla Porter in the fridge, but thinking I’ll save it for Manana.

Bourbon!!!!
Just finished a 2 oz mystery sample from a fellow MGoblogger that came the other day. Delicious ?.
Now enjoying a couple fingers of WT Rare Breed.
Cheers and thanks for the samples and all you did???!!!!
December 11th, 2020 at 7:54 PM ^
The WT Rare Breed is fantastic. Don’t let the higher proof fool you.
I just kicked off the evening with a Blood & Sand. 3/4 ounce of OJ, sweet vermouth, cherry Heering Liqueur and I went with Monkey Shoulder for the Scotch. Add it all to a shaker with ice, and serve in a chilled glass with a garnish or orange peel.
December 11th, 2020 at 9:26 PM ^
Cheers! Love wild turkey.
December 11th, 2020 at 9:40 PM ^
Have you tried the Rare Breed Rye?
I have only had their 101 and Rare Breed.
December 11th, 2020 at 10:00 PM ^
101 is a solid everyday sipper. Definitely prefer the Rare Breed. For some reason the rye’s just don’t go over very good for me, although I haven’t tried the Rare Breed Rye...didn’t realize they had it in a Rye.
December 11th, 2020 at 10:33 PM ^
I've not seen the rare breed rye here yet in Georgia. I will get one if I find one. One of the stores near my office has had a bottle of the Masters keep cornerstone rye on the shelf for a while and I'm tempted to get it but I'm holding out for the rare breed.
One of my favorite ryes is a knob Creek store pick. Worth keeping your eyes peeled for one if you ever see one

Hard time finding quality bourbon where I live. So PBR, Woodford Reserve (white label) and Jefferson Reserve tonight
December 12th, 2020 at 12:20 AM ^
Feel free to email me if there's something I can find here that you can't in your state. I'd be happy to keep an eye out and send. My screen name here @gmail.com.

Telluride Cash Money Pale Ale. In the same category as Two Heart and Pinner from Oscar Blues. Floral hops, not bitter.
