Submitted by I Luv TDs on
i was curious to know if anyone knew who Tate Forcier was competing against when he won the "Golden Arm Accuracy" award at the elite 11 camp he attended in the past summer?

During the Freep Q&A, the Rivals guy said something along the lines of "Tate has very underrated arm strength." Tate says him arm is stronger than Colt McCoy's. And there was some discussion where Rod Smith or some other coach compared Tate's arm to Henne's. In other words, I go to bed at night knowing that Tate's arm is perfectly sufficient.

I'd love to believe that, but I just have a hard time thinking he has that strong of an arm. You would think a guy thats mobile and has an accurate cannon for an arm would be higher rated. My only guess is that he uses his quick release more out of necessity and thus hasn't really showcased his arm strength.

2 inches taller, he'd be a 5 star. and you can't take the ratings as gospel. they're a very good guideline but outside of the top 40-50 or so you could put any of those guys anywhere without making much difference.

the Berkley regional camp. "Elite 11: Tate Forcier (6-0, 183), Quarterback (San Diego/Scripps Ranch) He lacks ideal size but is a gritty kid and showed all weekend why we feel he will excel in a spread system in which he can move around the pocket and make plays with his feet. Forcier looked better as the weekend went on, displaying his quick release and ability to spray the ball all over the field. The football was zipping out of hands, particularly on Saturday, and he threw more accurate on the run than any of his competition. He did show difficulty leading receivers on vertical routes and lacks great overall arm strength on intermediate-to-deep balls. Still, he should be highly productive in a college system that allows him to be creative distributing the football." http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/football/news/story?id=3403040

I'll settle for the whole super-accuracy thing, and a little bit of running. Oh, and no injuries. And lots of touchdowns. And few interceptions. And wins. All of 'em.
