Tacopants
Okay, can someone please explain to me the full story of Tacopants? I must have missed the day that this was originally announced here on mgoblog, but these are the things I know:
- Jason Avant's imaginary friend (WTF?)
- Apparently very tall because any time Henne fired a pass well over his target's head, the joke is that it was intended for the imaginary, gigantic, Tacopants.
I think the name Tacopants is one of my favorite things ever, so please help me understand. Did Jason Avant create this figure or is this a Brian creation and the two are merely associated because they're both "receivers"? Where did the name come from - is it because Michigan wears yellow pants and hard taco shells are yellow (if so, why not Mustardpants or anything else that is yellow?), or did it come from something else? Is there anything else I am missing to this story?
Thanks,
JDF

The FAQ sums up who Tacopants is, but we knew that already (and jdfogel pretty much described it in his post). But his question (and one I've wondered about for a long time as well) is, how exactly did this eleven foot tall receiver made of dreams get named Tacopants?
Edit: Well, I guess he did have other questions. But still, why the name?

wasnt it tacoskirt, the imaginary 1foot tall sister that took the field for mallett? and he just skipped passes to our WR when throwing to her?

Excellent pocket, Manningham sort of open but not really, Mallett throws it in the dirt. A commenter wondered if Tacopants had a 2'6" sister named "Tacoskirt." Yes, yes he does.September 5th, 2008 at 11:39 AM ^

I can't remember, but I'm willing to guess Brian's reponse would be something along the lines of:
1) Why not? He's imaginary, I can call him whatever I want
2) It's just what I came up with at the spur of the moment
you could always email him?
