I think that I, for one, am most surprised at why Texas is always such a strong favorite in these parts. Also surprised that Air Force placed higher than TCU. Theories for why the less-obvious allegiances are what they are? Any other ideas for surveys? I'm always interested to see what our collective MGoOpinions are.
Actually I find the Vanderbilt (and LSU) over Georgia in the SEC interesting.
The survey is still open by the way - the more the merrier.
No, that's a false equivalency. More does not equal merry. If there were 2,000 people in this apartment right now, would we be celebrating? No, we'd be suffocating.
At least one person picked MSU.
I'd be interested to see this on a large scale between UM and MSU fans. I'm not sure the numbers would shift too much. Maybe less NERD schools.
The only surprising to me was Oregon. Maybe the lack of UVa, but that's more because they've been irrelevant in football for a few years now. I'm about 80% sure people voted more for football than anything else.
I'm a little surprised that CMU wins by such a huge margin over the other directionals. Maybe because they've been the most successful lately and approximately 100% more effective at beating MSU.
Yeah, since we're talking about overall athletic dep't and not just football, I'm a little surprised Oregon beat out Stanford. Stanford is pretty much always at the top of the list in the Director's Cup. Despite the fact that they're having financial issues (most athletic dep'ts are these days), I'd say Standford is among the best run in the country.
...probably get a good response because so many MGoBloggers have some association with one service or another. Texas is because Texas has a huge population.
Air Force's popularity doesn't surprise me. People generally have a lot of respect for the service academies (and rightly so).
Who in the world picked Michigan State?
