Story on MBB Pete Kahler's Family

Submitted by farside286 on

I saw this on the notebook of umhoops and really don't know how this hasn't been posted.  It'll be a bit dusty in here after reading this story.

Anyway, the story is about our new Director of Basketball Operations and his family's experience over the last year and a half.  You need to read all of this so I'm not even going to bother quoting it.

It's an uplifting story to be sure, but the OP is a better person than me by not quoting the following passage, which contains a serious Name Of The Year candidate, women's division:

"I cheer for Pete, not Michigan," said his cousin Katie Ann Colliflower Gerkin, who holds an Ohio State undergraduate degree and graduated from the OSU veterinary school.

A cousin named Colliflower Gerkin? Pure win.

Great story, quality people.  I hope his mom can enjoy Michigan basketball until Glenn Robinson IV is on the team, playing with his buddies Mitch McGary Jr and Quad Burke.

"It'll be a bit dusty in here after reading this story."

This line is getting old.   It hasn't been officially added to the OMG Shirtless auto neg rules, but it's getting close.

BTW - I read the article.  It's a great story.  It brought a tear to my eye.   I don't need to use some cheesy line about cutting onions, allergies, or dust to admit it.

Especially because...can article like thus truly make a grown man cry?  I mean...not that there's anything wrong with that.  But it seems a tad unlikely.

Edit: your edit now claims that you yourself cried, OMG Shirtless.  I now look like a fool.
