What exactly do they mean by "knuckle-slap[ing] the fans"? The context in which they use it indicates that it was something that happened after the season. Am I missing something?

This "get a life" thing is getting as much press as the "RODRIGUEZ RAN OFF MALLETT!" BS I think Rodriguez needs to talk to Lloyd over the off-season about how to handle these media yahoos.
