So who here is planning to see Watchmen?
I figured a small break was in order from football, just to gauge who else plans to see this movie next week? It looks pretty cool from everything I've seen, so long as Snyder doesn't go ape shit with the slow motion like he did in 300. It will be interesting to see how he adapts that graphic novel, one of my favorites. Thoughts?

From what I read from the early reviews- it's close to 3 hours long and done very well. The people who reviewed it were diehard fans of the graphic novel.

I loved Sin City, it will be interesting to see how this stacks up against it.

I've been waiting for this movie for a long while now... I'm so happy the lawsuit with Fox was settled.

I will be boycotting the movie due to the changed ending.
That said, I will certainly be finding a pirated copy to watch.

So...what's with that Batman guy?

That might have been the dumbest comic of all time. If you want to see ridiculous lifetime drama with unbelievable characters I suggest watching Days of Our Lives. I mean the characters are retired! Go get From Hell or V for Vendetta

FTW
Now that's literature

Hey whats FTW mean?
Did Moore do swamp thing? Ill have to check it out.
A couple other good graphic novels are the Preacher series by Ennis, Lone Wolf and Cub series (possible the best story ever), and Peter David Hulk, its when he's in las vegas and wears the gangster outfit.
I just don't know why everyone loves the watchmen so much. Its much too sappy and longwinded for me.

for the win. think Hollywood Squares. Unless he means it some other way.

I'm reading "V for Vendetta" right now. Great book AND great movie.

Yeah I loved both, I heard that Moore didn't like the movie, but I thought it was pretty close to the book, especially considering the butchery of most comic to movie titles.

I'll probably just rent The Spirit

I must admit I'm a bit apprehensive. I have to assume they've left out the pirate bit, which will detract from the story, but how could you do it in a film? And what else will they leave out/change (can't be for the better)... I always figured this would be best as an HBO miniseries or some such. Anyway, will definitely watch it. Visuals look great. Gotta re-read it, too, just to be nicely primed.

The "pirate story" is being released separately (on DVD, I think).
