The offense looked the best it has this season still needs to improve against the blitz like screen plays and quick slants!  What happened to the screen plays that went to V. Smith, those use to kill few years ago

not bad, and honestly i've liked Nuss's calls this year for most games problem is we can't execute consistently.  At time this game we were running at will.  DG just isnt very accurate even when he is playing well.  He's a slightly better passer than Denard at this rate but no dynamic big play run potential.

We did get 336 yards of total offense, which I'll take right now at least if we set the offense apart as an unit effort. It split like this -

Passing: 178 yards, 13 for 22, so 13.69 yards per completion and 8.09 yards per attempt

Rushing: 158 yards on 35 attempts, so 4.51 yards per carry on the ground.

Overall, it averages out to 5.89 yard per play, which is fine when you're not giving up nearly 7 yards per play on average.

Offense looked better tonight but I just fear what happens next year/moving forward when I see performances like tonight. Gardner saved a lot of drives with his legs. Shane has showed some pretty good mobility, but the QBs we have on roster for next year/movie forward make me kind of scared. It didn't always look like the offensive playcall was amazing/the WRs were wide open because of the scheme. But rather that Gardner made some people miss with his speed in the backfield to avoid sacks and make something happen. Running game looked better but it still looks like Gardner "hero ball" is the best way for us to keep the chains moving

Today showed steps in the right direction, especially on the offensive line and running the ball. It is hard to put in a new system, especially with young inexperienced guys on the line. However, you can see the reps starting to pay off.

I do not envy Nuss, but I can see his scheme beginning to gell and I can see this OLine coming out firing full steam next year. Unfortunately, I don't know if he, or anyone else on staff, will be around to see it.

on a TV at a club with the sound off. But is there a snowflake thread for that SHIT PLAY CALL on 3rd and 8? The ref standing right there called it a completion. What the hell happened? Who overruled him?

Maybe I just want us to be better than we are, but I really thought I saw some glimmers of the offense that we've been wanting to run. Derrick Green looked great, once he finally got a healthy dose of carries. The O-line had its moments as well. Funchess and Butt are a terrific one-two punch.

I'm not saying we are where we need to be, but I can conceive of this offense evolving into the power offense that we've been waiting for. My gripe is with the play calling for the first half. Once it became clear that we had to, that power O finally appeared. Will we come out pounding the ball from the start in the next game? No idea.

I know that's kind of a positive writeup after losing to Rutgers, but I genuinely won't be surprised if we get it together at some point before the season is over, and upset someone. Will it save Hoke? Again, no idea. But after this, I can actually imagine them finding a way to end the season on an positive arc rather than just giving up and throwing in the towel.

that you all at MICHIGAN did All Those Streaks going back Decades And Decades  ??

Nuss contintued--  WHAT, is your O-call secret ??  I wanna Be Like You  . . .

Debord paused in reply--  Well son, have a seat and We Will Talk.  Its actually kinda simple  . . .

I don't understand why we didn't continue to pound the run game on the last drive? It seemed we were getting somewhere with power running MANBAWWWW and then we switched gears. Monday morning QB says we should have continued to pound it after the playaction to Hill.

After the horrible New Jersey mobster-esque performance by the B1G officiating crew blew the pass catch call putting us in 4th and 8. I have no idea why you would elect to kick a 56 yd. FG in the gale against a known dangerous special teams that just called a timeout to scheme.

If we would have managed our timeouts/time management strategy better, I think we'd be in a better position at that point too.

No "go to" plays. Nothing that resembles something they can always run to get yards. O-line still struggles at times. But...no one can make a play when it counts. Norfleet had a drop. Darboh gets hit with a drop on the bullshit call play. Third down conversions suck. Wait.. I'm supposed to be finding snowflakes...

Compared to the recent past ( past 2 years) I was very impressed with the run game. The backs were spotting creases and hitting them decisively

This game was more heart breaking for me than the other losses bc it felt like one we deserved to win.

I like Brady Hoke and really wanted to see him succeed here. Unlike most of the board I'm not delighting in his downfall and jubilant over the idea of seeing him fired. I had been harboring secret hopes that the players would rally around him, we'd win today and it'd be a turning point into making this a respectable season.

Instead we got this. Great effort but still came up short, which is sad.

that I wondered about.  I'm pretty buzzed so can't remember when it happened but it was 3rd and mid range, RU blitzed and Gardner threw it to Williams by the sideline  Good pass and bounced right off Williams hands  Was wondering why Williams would be the first option or either the hot read in a spot like that.

It looked better tonight against a decent defense, but too little too late. I hate seeing Gardner go out like this. You could tell he tried putting the team on his back tonight. He deserves better, as does the whole team.

game on DVR. Wasted my few hours of sleep for it. I am pretty sure that we got screwed on that catch that was called incomplete. 2 feet down and then drag one of the two feet in bounds as he was making a football move. That was a catch, anything that happens afterwards doesn't fucking matter. Pretty important call that fucked us in the end. Fuck it
