Don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me. For years they've been highlighting top HS athletes in all sports, sometimes with great accuracy. Last year while cleaning my attic, I came across an SI from the 90's that featured a high school basketball player they called the best in the country. Some kid named Lebron James.

Wonder what happened to him?

A top 99 that doesn't contain Donovan Edwards is not credible and just something to get clicks or sell magazines (if they still exist). The absence of Spindler clinches it as well for me.

I wish the coaches would have pursued Tristan Leigh (SI#61) sooner. My son is a teammate of his at Robinson HS, and this kid is an impressive OT on the field and an exceptional human off the field...true class act!

Nobody really knows right now but the presumed leader is LSU with Clemson, OSU, Oklahoma, and Alabama in the mix. Some of the more delusional OSU fans believe they have a chance or that they might even lead but I doubt it. From what I remember Michigan actually offered Leigh pretty early and he even visited once. I think Michigan was in the mix at one point but both sides kinda mutual parted ways after Michigan got some new targets and Leigh got some big offers.

@Magic_Fan:  The last time I talked with him was about (2) months ago, while we were working with incoming sophomore linemen (my son’s class) at the HS, and we did not discuss colleges...but he was sporting a Michigan shirt :) He tends to wear the swag from visits, so that had no bearing.

Last I heard, his Mom said LSU was atop his list, but this was at the end of the school year. I certainly do not know his destination, but wherever he chooses will be getting one helleuva player.
