Shout-out to Ben Herbert and S&C Staff
Along with Coach Gattis's Offense finally getting up to speed, I think our success can also be attributed to the fact that our players are in great condition and have the strength/stamina to bury teams in the second half of games. This must be due in large part to Ben Herbert, our S&C Coordinator and his staff! (Don Brown's adjustments also factor in)
Second half scoring:
MTSU 13-7
Army 17-7 including OTs
WI 14-7
Rutgers 28-0
I 0-0 wa
Illinois 14-18 (anomaly)
Penn St. 14-7
ND 28-14
Maryland 17-7
State 27-3
Indiana 18-0

Thanks,
I'll tell him how much you appreciate him when we have brunch tomorrow

I was thinking that Michigan has been pretty fortunate the injury bug has not been that bad this year. That also is a combination of luck and S&C...

Injuries hurt the team early in the year, but they’ve bounced back pretty well

I was thinking the same thing during yesterday’s game how we have been pretty injury free. Now our entire team is fucked next week. Dammit.
Conditioning I am sure plays a part but most of it is just luck.

Man, I don't know that I agree about that. We didn't have DTs against Wisconsin because of injuries and Shea was a gimp for half of the season. DPJ also missed a third of the season and wasn't really playing at full speed until the last few games.

Yes, we seem to get stronger during games now instead of running out of gas about midway through the 3rd quarter. I think this may also have something to do with having a decent QB who doesn't turn the ball over and go 3 and out mots drives like we had in the past.

Couldn't agree more! And our players look big this year compared to years past.
There aren't many teams that can match up to ND and look the same size but we sure did this year.
Herbert got a lot of recognition last year but he needs some this year too.

Does this mean Don Brown owes Ben Hebert a big kiss?

Fantastic. Love the Team!

I’ve noticed that the team looks especially strong and conditioned this year.
Great job guys.

Absolutely.

I’m sure Herbert knows his stuff, but I’m gonna reserve particular praise until after the season’s over.

Those are some damn impressive numbers, thanks for putting that together blueuper.

Good to know that our slow starts are countered by 2nd half advantages. Damn Illinois breaking the streak.
