Shane Morris starting today

Pretty much confirmed. GBW is reporting that multiple sources have said he's starting and Herbstreit just said the same thing during ESPN Gameday. Greise and TVH both said they expect him to start as well.

DG's mobility? He has to be able to make some plays through the air and he has looked horrible...from accuracy to reads. I have been behind DG but there isn't any way you can go forward with him after 4 games that ended with his worst performance. DG appears to have the tools and brain to be a successful college QB and I think the staff truly believed he would progress through the first 4 games.

I still think Gardner gives us a better chance to win, but letting Gardner take a moment off and release the pressure on him might be OK.  Let Morris get in there and give it a shot.  Worst case scenario is Morris also struggles and everyone realizes it's not just Garnder's fault and it isn't as easy as it looks.  Then Gardner gets back him there and looks better than Morris and reminds people why he's the starting QB and he gains a little support of those around him.  Granted that could hurt Morris' confidence in the short term, but if he's really a gamer you can't complain about getting an opprotunity and failing.  Best case scenario, he plays great, and gives the team a boost.  At this point, why not try something different?  The defense should be good enough to keep us in the game agsint a team like Minnesota even if Morris is ineffective in time for Gardner to get in there and win the game in the second half.

I think it's more than his foot. I really think his psyche has been hurt for a while too. Doesn't help confidence when you've been playing behind a young and inexperienced o-line for a couple years. This is a good change. Even if Shane struggles, it gives Devin a chance to rest and get some time to recover more than physically.

But, I have to say that I am REALLY pumped for Shane starting now. I think he's got a great attitude on the field and doesn't look like he gets shaken up too much. He's got moxie!!

Shane Morris just threw a football 70 yards in warmups.

I need people to realize the offense is opening up this week, you guys may not take my word as fact yet. Hopefully this offensive forray changes that.
