Seton Hall chokes away the game against Sparty
Sparty was trailing Seton Hall 71-66 with under 2:00 to play and staring down the barrel of a 1-2 start. Thanks to some piss-poor shot selection by Seton Hall down the stretch, MSU managed to escape with a 76-73 win.
This was supposed to be a "DOWN GOES SPARTY" post. Aargh.

Let’s save “Down Goes Sparty” for Saturday. Go Blue!

That last drive on Tillman shoulda been a foul. Oh well. Will beat them!

And the narrative is they'll likely be the new #1 with UK falling... annoying.

Can’t imagine a one loss team being #1 at this point.
- Duke
- Louisville
- UNC
- Kentucky
- MSU

That's some solid analysis of a completely meaningless poll.

Looking at that top 5...who says cheaters never prosper?
November 15th, 2019 at 2:48 AM ^
At least Kansas isn't there question-mark.

Voice to text is great explanation point.

Well they are pretty damn good unfortunately, the deepest they have been in years, and will be a favorite for the title so...

They are athletic as hell. We’ll see where they are at when Langford returns. I think they’re going to miss McQuaid and Goins a lot

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We are a possible bubble team. Big Ten wins are good for our numbers and after an awful first week, the big ten needs wins.
Stop acting like their childish fans. State winning this game was a small, net positive for Michigan. Enjoy that. Fans cheering against their own interests out of spite never made sense to me.
Of course, by all means, cheer for them to lose every game in conference and in the tourney.
November 15th, 2019 at 7:52 AM ^
Do you really place that much importance on barely making it into a 66 team tournament? If UM takes care of their own business, they will be in. Every loss for MSU is a win for us in the minds of recruits & pretty much everyone else. Fuck sparty every game.
November 15th, 2019 at 8:01 AM ^
A possible bubble team?? That would be an absolute piss poor job by Juwan if that was the case. Not happening. Michigan is better than anyone thinks in media. I'm not saying that as a Michigan fan either but as a college basketball fan. College basketball is down across the board right now. I'll take our 4 upperclassmen who have played major minutes as the young guys develop.

Sparty should not own space in your mind like this! They won the game, congrats - good for us and good for our conference. Now on Saturday, let’s go win that one!

November hoops is mostly worthless but that was a pretty gutty win

I knew MSU was going to win with how Seton Hall started playing at the end. Like you said Seton hall with the 5 point lead wasted back to back possessions on horrible 3s by Powell. They could've extended the lead to 9-10 and shut the door
November 14th, 2019 at 11:01 PM ^
When they got the rebound on the Powell missed FT they butchered that possession. Instead Sparty goes on 6-0 run and the lead is gone. No looking back from there. Even with a missed FT from Winston

Those last two possessions by Seton Hall were iffy no calls, especially on their home court. They did have some bad possessions before that though

Powell kept SHU in it with 37 points, but killed them on that second to last possession. Just rushed up a drive into 3 big men and lost the ball
November 15th, 2019 at 8:05 AM ^
That is what you get with Powell. It is why along with his size he is still at Seton Hall as a senior even as a top notch scorer.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:57 PM ^
Right what a loser, only managing 37 when he killed them by not scoring 41...

Spartans Foul.
November 15th, 2019 at 9:25 AM ^
Not according to Izzo they don’t.
I mean, I’m shocked, SHOCKED that a program that at one point prided themselves on practicing in football pads commits a foul or two every now and then.

Cool story
November 15th, 2019 at 12:08 AM ^
How the hell is Seton Hall ranked ahead of us. They have no business even sniffing the top 25.
November 15th, 2019 at 7:23 AM ^
You must not watch much college basketball I guess..
November 15th, 2019 at 8:07 AM ^
I watch a ton of it every night and I agree with original poster that SH should not be 12.
November 15th, 2019 at 10:20 AM ^
Really? They’ll win their conference this year. They have the best player in the country. Two 7 footers and 4 players 6-10 and above who all aren’t stiffs. They’d be favored to finish 2nd or 3rd in the Big Ten.
November 15th, 2019 at 12:55 PM ^
Oh look - an adult posting facts. Seton Hall is legit.

Who watches sparty bball?

Sounds like Michigan 3 times last year against MSU :(
