This Season / Redemption ??

Submitted by TorontoBlue on

As I sit here wearing a Sparty jersey (over my M tshirt so it won't touch my skin) for losing annual co-worker bet Saturday - one thought keeps going through my head:

Somerhow, some way, if the stars could align themselves, if this team could go down to Colbumbus and pull off an upset of TP and the BuckNuts, would that not be a sweet finish to a disastrous season?  Kinda like the feeling after CapOne Bowl, only 10 times better.

Flame on, I know it defies all logic, but I need something to keep me off the depression meds and stranger things have happened, right?

I wouldn't be surprised to see the boys with nothing to lose, play tUOS tough.  They'd have to play the best game of their season to beat them though.  Rivaly games you always throw out the book.  That definately would make this season better.

Yeah, I really cannot see us winning this one at their place.  That being said, if we lose the next three and then somehow come back with a win at OSU, that will make me happier with a 3-9 season than I could ever possibly imagine.

i read that first line and was like why the hell are you blogging on this site....thank God i finished reading it...yea, we can do it...we seem to do better when we're down, and i can be fairly sure that the buckeyes will get a lead on us at some point in the game and we'll charge back and beat them

Well, it would be true to history.  In the last 50 years or so, every first-year coach in the UM-MSU series has lost (except 1995, when two of them went head-to-head).  But over the same time, every first-year coach in UM-OSU has won, except John Cooper (and he came very close to pulling the upset).
