The screen pass...
Yano, every game im wondering why they do the screen pass, SO MUCH. It barely works, every other play is the stupid screen pass. Does anyone know why? I tend to think its because are QBs are even worse than we think(yeah we know there bad), But, maybe there even worse than we tend to think and they only focus on throwing screens.
Cant wait for Tate/Beaver to come in.

we have no downfield threat right now so by throwing a lot of screens we can at least spread the field horizontally and get a little extra space for the RB's.

It's not like RR has a whole lot of choices of other plays that were working but kept trying the screen. The only play that seemed to work regularly was the zone right, and that wouldn't work if they didn't force OSU to stay in position to defend other plays. Two of the best pass plays on the day came on fake screens, where a player was wide open 15 yards downfield after their defender had already came up to stop the screen. Also, there were a few other screens which could have been big plays if the defender doesn't make a good open field tackle (which, unlike us, they seemed capable of doing). Right now, there's a whole lot of execution issues with a lot of plays, and they'll just need to keep working on them in the offseason and hopefully get them working for positive yards next year, which will open up other plays as well.

I don't think they plan on those screens turning into big plays. It's basically just a long handoff, an attempt to gain 3 or 4 yards.

They were pretty much a substitute for running plays in the beginning of the season when our line couldn't run-block for shit.
