Scouting Report: Antwuan Davis
This week's scouting report is on Bastrop (TX) Bastrop cornerback Antwuan Davis. Michigan currently sits outside his top five of Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas, but the coaches are still pursuing him. I like Davis as a physical boundary corner, and he also has the speed to stick with receivers downfield. Lately it seems most Michigan corners only have one or the other, but Davis looks like a pretty complete player if he can stay healthy.
Magnus, why are you so negative about recruits? "If he can stay healthy...". Now he won't come to Michigan because of you.

Dammit! I'm ruining kids' lives left and right...
Have you heard anything about how the coaching situation at Arkansas may impact recruits?
Saw them on the top 5 and it made me think about that. I have heard little about the impact on recruits but I'd imagine it would impact recruiting a lot (although not sure it would help UM much).

Yeah, Arkansas and Michigan recruiting don't cross paths a whole lot. I haven't heard about how it's affecting recruiting, but Arkansas currently has zero commits and I'm sure the Petrino situation didn't help. I can't imagine that John L. Smith will be a long-term answer for them, so I think it's going to be a rough recruiting year for Arkansas. Kids don't like uncertainty at the coaching position. If they're going to replace John L. Smith, I think they need to do it IMMEDIATELY after the regular season and hope that the replacement can salvage the class over the two or three months before NSD.
I wouldn't be surprised if they name his replacement with one or two games left in the regular season.
Actually less than 1 year. He signed a 10 month contract. It seems like they want to dump lots of money for some guy after this season.

Hahaha I love your insight Magnus brings some of the homers bach into reality...Have you heard about the new wideout we offered? There is a picture on rivals, but I have no idea who he is..thanks

It's Paul Harris from Maryland. I haven't seen any film on him, but he's got offers from USC and a bunch of others.
I've been after Magnus to stop including that proviso in every Iowa Running Back evaluation he's ever written.

Couple quick questions:
1. "breaking a bone in his back" can mean a lot of things. Tailbone is no big deal, but a spinal fracture would be a different story (I'm assuming he wouldn't be playing if the latter were the case).
2.How old is the kid? I'm wondering if he's still growing and will outgrow the corner spot.

1. He had to wear a back brace for a while, and I think he fractured a vertebra. I don't think it was a tailbone.
2. I'm not sure how old he is.

I think your comment about "if he stays healthy" is very appropriate.
Thanks again.
