Scout - Tajh Boyd

Submitted by tdeshetler on
Scout is lighting up my inbox with recruiting possibilities, like "Tajh Boyd maybe coming in for a visit." Any truth to those rumors?

Looks like the OP is basing this post on "information" that came out.. though of the vague, Scout-variety. But I hear you West Texas... I think Boyd is one of the longer of long shots, and I don't look forward to weeks of "Boyd and Marcus Hall, SNAKE OIL!!" posts... but like I said, the OP is referencing Scout's info.

Posting about recruits is fine, and word is that they are going after him like another poster said. Don't see any harm in a post about an uncommited QB who Michigan is going after. Some people can't spend as much time on here as others and they just want some help in finding out what is going on. Anything that isn't about DS is great at this point.

I don't think the first commenter was necessarily complaining about the post. He was just pointing out that it's bound to be one of many about Boyd.

right, but making post like that also make others who don't post that much more likely not to ask a question they would like answered. I follow recruiting heavily like you and many others on here and know that Boyd has been the subject of many chats on a lot of boards lately and it can get frusturating to see the same questioned being asked, but I have to tell myself that he is also a fan of Michigan and on the good side. Maybe he can't get or doesn't have the time to get all the information many of the hardcore posters do and just wants to get up to date on things.

Yeah, my post's tone came off as a little harsh, but as someone who follows recruiting heavily, seeing the same questions over and over can drive me crazy. Perhaps an interesting idea is to allow a user board in which lists the recruits, and posters can add info to each recruit to allow everyone to know what's going on with each prospect. This could eliminate redundant information and questions and perhaps streamline info. Varsity Blue has something like this, except for not allowing users to add info to each prospect. http://www.umvarsityblue.com/2009/index.php

with you Texas. I too get annoyed when others want to know what is going on over and over and there is nothing to do except wait and see what happens like you said. We just can't get at each other over stuff like that, I know you weren't trying to be harsh, with so many people out there piling on Michigan right now. This season has been horrible for every Michigan fan and nobody knows what is going to happen next year so I guess we are all on edge. That being said, loved how all the recruits looked at both the games this weekend. Roh stood out more than anybody else and could really turn into something special along with a lot of the other guys coming in this year.

I think part of it was the production (NBC sucks at producing football games, and the AAA Bowl always sucks), but the Under Armour game certainly was more exciting and it seemed more competitive. The sideline guy (Dave Ryan? I don't know, whoever was holding the mic while kids gave verbals) was a douchebag, though. I wanted to punch that guy in the nut.

The OSU insiders were all atwitter after Boyd's visit there b/c he apparently loved the place. Not long after, though, he said Oregon was about even...It strikes me as an uphill climb for Michigan at this point, especially with Forcier in the fold, but I am neither an expert nor an insider.

He's buried in a much deeper depth chart than at Michigan. OSU has Pryor and already offered a 2011 QB that they supposedly have promised the starting job once Pryor leaves and Oregon has Masoli and two other QB's capable coming off the bench. I am not saying I think he ends up blue but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if somehow Virginia Tech got in the running. They were going after Newsome and lost out.

I figured Scout is selling their services hard by concocting every imaginable scenario regarding a possible recruit. Since I don’t have a subscription my hope was that one of you could provide more info.
