What’s the point of testing someone after a positive test? Return to work guidelines depend on symptoms and time from test, not repeating tests until negative

Everything I have read says that false negatives are higher than false positives. If you aren't celebrity coach you probably quaratine and that's that. AD was also positive, and quite a few players though I don't know if any recently. Unless it is sloppy lab work, with coworker also testing positive I have my suspicions about the retest.

Speed is often talked about when discussing the testing, but accuracy issues have always been there.  I've talked to multiple health care workers, and they all mention that the accuracy is getting better, but they'd rather have a 1:1000 test than a 15-minute one.

"Coach Saban was evaluated again today by Dr. [Jimmy] Robinson," the statement read. "He continues to be asymptomatic and without fever. We are continuing to follow the SEC Return to Activity and Medical Guidance Task Force Protocol for testing asymptomatic positives. A PCR test was repeated Thursday by the SEC-appointed lab and was negative. For clarification, the initial positive result came from an outside lab we've used to supplement the SEC mandated testing. He will continue to remain in isolation and receive daily PCR tests. Should he have three negative PCR tests through the SEC-appointed lab, each 24 hours apart, the initial test would be considered a false positive pursuant to SEC protocols and he would be allowed to return."

So an independent lab found a positive test , then an $EC lab said he was negative.

Yeah that isnt suspicious in the least....

If Bama was playing a shitty team this week , I bet money he would not be coaching .

Just needs two more negatives to coach Saturday, at least the execution of the rule Stafford basically got passed through the NFLPA first has trickled into college football and being utilized in full effect
