RR and Magee
What is the dynamic between RR and Magee? RR is so closely associated with all things offense, yet Magee is the OC. What is that relationship? Does RR develop the strategy and CM the tactical playcalls, vice-versa? Does anybody know? I don't know if this has been discussed before. Was RR OC at WV before he brought in CM?

Magee joined RR's staff in 2001 at West Virginia.

Magee looks like he would be a great hug. I want to hug the man and I am not afraid to say it.

Magee calls the plays, but RichRod can overrule him on the field. That's who Rodriguez is always talking to in the headset.
I know this because I'm with WCBN and our booth is right next to the coaches in the press box. We have heard them argue (especially last season) and through that it has come clear that Magee calls the plays, but Rodriguez has to agree.
I'm sure that's the relationship with alot of coaches/OCs.

I believe that whenever the offense looks up after lining up, that call comes from Magee up top because he can see the entire defensive alignment.

McGee is listed as an assistant head coach. The true head coach has a lot of hats to wear (motivation, recruiting, personel managing, program oversight, etc.)
Having someone you consider a peer handle as large a schematic process as our offense is must be a large benefit.
