Should have added that he is number 14 for the white team.

Zavier?

I read somewhere this kid can go fast forward.
How many fakes does 4.37 get?
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:07 AM ^
Believe it was a laser-timed 40 from an Opening regional. So zero fakes?
December 22nd, 2019 at 9:25 AM ^
Sounds good. That’s the kind of speed we need!
December 22nd, 2019 at 9:43 AM ^
100 meter state champ @ 10.6 as junior
he told Isiah Hole his current time is ~10.4 with goal to break the state record and run a 10.2-10.3 in the finals this year as a senior
4.37 laser 40 is fast. Elite slot receiver speed.
December 22nd, 2019 at 11:40 AM ^
I expect him to be outside and slot. I think Gattis sees the benefit of playing receivers everywhere so I wouldn't get to attached to the outside vs slot position as much. Key is to exploit the best match for the offense.

10.4 (legit, laser-timed) as a high schooler is truly elite, like state record level elite, and 10.2 as a high schooler is "might leave football to be in the Olympics" level fast. His 10.6 time is already Denard-level speed, I highly doubt he gets to 10.4 (especially 10.2).
December 22nd, 2019 at 12:55 PM ^
10.6 is my cut off from, “he’s really fast“ to “he is likely the fastest person on the field”. I agree with you, that 10.4 range is truly elite speed, especially not wind aided.

Jahvid Best is probably the fasted guy I’ve ever seen jn pereon. This guy is already that fast
December 22nd, 2019 at 3:41 PM ^
Barry was the fastest/quickest, I have ever seen in person.
At a youth football camp circa ‘92 in Menlo Park, CA, Barry just happened to be training on an adjacent field with some NFL guys; Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Eric Metcalf, Glyn Milburn, Tommy Vardell...a few others. Just t-shirts, shorts, and cleats, and I have never in my life seen someone move like that since. Even compared to the players he was training with...unreal.

And that was with the slow laser!
December 22nd, 2019 at 12:44 AM ^
Didn't watch the whole game but he seems to be the best athlete on the field, with about 12 or so guys going to D1 programs on scholarship next year. Suffered from a bad QB and going up against a better team. Excited for him.
6.5.0December 22nd, 2019 at 11:37 AM ^
I'm not sure his QB qualifies as a bad. The qb will be at Washington State next year, which is a power 5 program. I do agree that Wilson was going up against a better team though.

Washington St has been the best overall passing team in college since Mike Leach took over.
December 22nd, 2019 at 1:55 PM ^
Huh? Are you just basing this on yards alone? Oklahoma was better last year and the year before. LSU was better this year. They threw almost 2 - 300 more times than the next closest team, but the they also were a 500 team and threw 16 ints. That's not impressive.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:32 PM ^
Since 2012 Washington St has had the best passing game overall in college. If Joe Brady keeps up what he's doing at LSU for a few more years, they will be the new best passing game overall in college. But yes, this year, LSU's passing game has been unstoppable. The only way LSU stops scoring is the game comes to an end.
As far as wins and losses for Washington St, the passing game does not play on defense. The defense is probably to blame for the numerous losses.
I would take Mike Leach in less than a second to run the passing game at Michigan.
Wouldn't you?

If your QB throws 16 ints, you can't see how that can hurt a defense? But your claim just isn't true. Last year OSU with Haskins had a better passing offense. Wash St threw for 4779, and OSU threw for 4831, with more yds per att, more TD's. OU also had more yds per att and more TD's. In 2017 Colorado St, Penn St, Louisville, USC, OK St, and OU were better. That doesn't include non power 5 schools. They throw the ball more than anyone, but they are not very efficient.

What channel is the new DT playing on?
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:38 AM ^
Id say channel zero but that sounds like sci fi.

None then.

No idea what the level of comp is, but he did look pretty good out there from what I saw.
Explosive for sure.
December 22nd, 2019 at 2:05 PM ^
Thought he looked really good. Fast, great hands, confident. Hurdled a guy. He was limited by the QB though, who either had pressure or was inaccurate often.
He's not huge though. Aa others have said. He looks like a Ronnie Bell type. Will be a smaller set of receivers at Michigan in a couple years, probably faster though. Interesting because o thought Gattis was a guy who did like different types of receivers, but right now he has what looks like an abundance of slots in the last two classes.
