"We try to get everyone in spring a lot of reps to evaluate and teach. I think at quarterback we'll keep things pretty even with Tate and Nick and also David Cone giving him a fair amount of reps as well." So much for the malarkey about Threet leaving because Forcier was going to get all the snaps in the spring.

This is one part coach speak and one part open competition as promised all along. RR, like Pete Carroll, seems to leave every position open every week. This is a big recruiting pitch and will do nothing but breed healthy competition to put the best players on the field any given Saturday. I don't think he would blow off a player because they "had their shot" last year. However, I would expect him to do just what he says: teach and evaluate. I for one could care less who gets the first reps of spring, I'm just waiting to see who is getting them at the end.

SOme had wondered if LOI freshman that will have to wait till summer to get to A2 would get a play book to study. Rich Rod answers that with a NO. No Play book for you!

On a player that stood out in winter conditioning: "There have been a lot of them. It's really hard to pin it down to just one. The upperclassmen that have been doing it for years – the Brandon Grahams and Stevie Browns, are doing a tremendous job, Steve Schilling. Our young guys, Michael Cox is a young freshman that did a terrific job in the offseason. Mike Martin has done a tremendous job." Im sry...did u say "stevie browns"? as if hes the model of what a safety should be? i mean, i wasnt one of those guys declaring him the death of michigan football, but if hes the one getting specific recognition...
