Just confirmed that Coach Frey will be by to see some of our boys this week. Jamar Johnson is a 6ft2 185 lb DB that ishe probably one of the best in our entire area and maybe State. https://www.hudl.com/profile/5292875/jamar-johnson Malachi Wideman is a 6ft 5 freshman wide receiver that just landed a Gator offer and is on the verge of seeing his recruitment take off big time. http://www.hudl.com/profile/7887854/malachi-wideman

4.5 consistent. Runs several events including lead leg in the 100. Plays through people. Had 6 picks I think last year....forced 3 or 4 fumbles. Scored a few defensive tds and housed a couple of kickoffs. He would not shirt at Michigan. We are getting some academics in order on him and hopefully he will get a look. Noles Gators and Bulls were all by to see him in the past week. Lots of Conference USA offers so far. I'm biased and haven't fully scouted all of our DBS in this class but Jamar is a monster.

You can YouTube his basketball stuff also. Dunk contest champ as a varsity freshman. Legit 6ft4 or 6ft5. (Haven't measured since last August) This kid will Likely be a 4 or 5 star. Definitely want to get the relationship built early.

Seems like he may out grow the WR position if he is 6'5 as a freshman. Does he have the frame to bulk up to be a TE or defender? Or is his future looking more towards the hardwood as a basketball player? He definitely has bball height.

Why dont we have Devin Bush Sr. on these guys. He's from Florida, Played in the NFL, won Championships, can articulate why he and his son chose Michigan over in-state schools, looks hip with the dreads. I bet he would do wonders for us in recruiting Florida and any other state.

Are both old school Noles. Coach Frey is from Clearwater I believe and was the area recruiter for Indiana down in Florida. Both will have great familiarity. Coach Bush is a great dude and we talked about these guys at the Spring Game. He was at Flanagan but has an idea of where we are on the South Gulf Coast.

Riverview and other schools in the Sarasota / Tampa area are hot beds for kids that have families midwestern ties. Todd Johnson is the coach and is an NFL guy who can coach. Venice High has some good kids too. Before the Sarasota school district redid the lines for schools Riverview was the powerhouse in the area. Some of those kids now go to Venice.

Venice makes a killing recruiting from North Port. The northern boundaries for Venice is not where the athletes are coming from.

Laurel kids always went to Venice.

Edit: Karan also lived in North Port as did Robert Glinton, who was a starting running back for Riverview about 8 years ago.

Actually transferred to Venice from Riverview. I consider it one of the best decisions I've ever made. Personal feelings about those Rams aside, they've always got talent. Not a bad place to croot. Wish we'd check out VHS more.

I can tell you they didn't recruit me in the least. I did not care for John Sprague and I lived closer to Venice anyway. I am, however, aware of what is currently going on there and I can't defend John Peacock on that one. Love him as a coach but I don't live there any more so I only know what I read.

Not a Sprague fan myself. Peacock just got caught texting a junior at North Port. He is placing blame on the North Port student for contacting him.... even though he said he originally thought the North Port coaches put the kid up to it. Makes very little sense to me. This is the second time they have been fined by FHSAA for messaging players at North Port High. The first time he did it on the day the FHSAA investigator was on campus. He was fined 10K and suspended for Sping football this time.

GO SAILORS!!!  My kid will rain horror down on the Rams this fall. He'll walk away from your crumpled QB just like Alan Branch.
