Risk Day 20 - Yo, Get Back In The Game! (And Also A Pretty Good Map)

Submitted by Michigan CFB R… on April 11th, 2020 at 11:35 AM

Yesterday was solid. In fact, it pretty much went according to chalk. We took back most of the land that Stanford pilfered the night before, and us/Chaos continue to be a thorn in the Buckeyes' side (I have family in Pittsburgh, so I'm enjoying our presence there).

HOWEVER, we somehow lost a chunk of our MGoArmy over the past two nights. We went from 780 strong on Wednesday night, to just 737 on Friday night. This, paired with OSU and TAM maintaining their numbers, spells big trouble for us if we don't get our numbers up in a hurry. We still have a power advantage, but that's going to evaporate in a hurry if we don't get participation back up. OSU now has nearly 1k(!) players, and their 472 1-stars are going to double in power very soon.

So...let's have some real talk. We know this is a silly game, and we know we're putting way too much energy into it. At the same time, I remember how much pride the Michigan 1-star army took in displaying its unrivaled nerdiness in numbers last year (which led to a 2nd place finish that could've easily been first with a couple better rolls). We need that to come back, and I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation. We're all stuck at home these days and there's literally no competition happening IRL. So why not hang our hats on a competition for nerds? IMO, that sounds right up our alley.

So please, get back in the game. If you don't have an account, make one, and then take the 15 seconds out of your already weird day to grab an assignment at MichiganCFBRisk.com, click "Put in your move for today," and then click the assigned territory in the game. Our reddit mods have made it super easy, so let's reward them by showing that the dip was an anomaly and that Michigan is still superior at taking random competitions way too seriously. GO BLUE!

Once more into the breach, once more!  Well, actually first time into the breach.  Really easy, especially with the dummy proof instructions.

Dishonor not thy mothers!

I had an issue getting my assignment last round (maybe some bug in the system), decided I'd check in later, got busy on other things, and missed the round.  Lost all my stars, alas.

Might have happened to others as well.

There needs to be a way to give a power boost to a school who knocks out another team. This game just languishes without it.
